Happy QLD won on the one hand since I kinda back them but on the other it's actually getting a little boring to be honest. Would have preferred a last game decider.

Laurie Daley was never more then a hard but good player without to much attacking flair.

I think it shows with the team he picked and the way they play.

Yes, Daley was individually a great player but wasn't involved to much in playmaking and that is what NSW are missing.

@ bobo, all joking aside when you post comments like this -

"Lets hear it from all the redneck queenslanders.
You knuckle draggers whinge when you win.
At least all your sisters will get a night of,June 1."

you are just begging for a reaction from the QLDers but to be honest mate I could not be bothered retaliating in a similar fashion, won't let NSW supporters drag me down to their level.

And I don't understand what you mean by we whinge when we win. Why would anyone do that ? You seem to have us confused with the likes of Laurie (we don't want those refs) Daley and Ricky (I will complain after every loss) Stewart who whinge after every loss and NSW people in general who gloat after every win.

I cannot speak for all QLDers but I can assure you that I am not a redneck, in fact if I had my way every redneck on the planet would be blown away with his own firearm and then buried with it in a mass grave. My knuckles don't drag on the ground, I don't have sex with my sisters, and I don't whinge after every win.

Don't gloat about the wins either but after reading some of your comments it is hard not to.

Congrats on you backing Gagai for first try scorer. That guy is a scoring machine.

Concerning Laurie Daley, only players of a certain caliber are good enough to play so many games as he did at club, state and international level.
I thought he was one of the greats and loved watching him no matter who he played for, even when he wore the light blue jumper.

Just saw this article on news.com.au -

State of Origin 2016 Game 2: Brad Fittler, Channel 9 questions referees? integrity

Brad certainly has a lot to learn about commentating, it is not quite the same as screaming at a tv set in a public bar !
But he did make it clear where his heart lays.

..................“The penalty set Fittler off on a rant that has savaged the reputation of Origin referees Gerard Sutton and Ben Cummins.
While trying to disguise his swipe at the whistle-blowers, the meaning behind Fittler’s comments was perfectly clear to fellow commentators Peter Sterling and Phil Gould. It would appear in State of Origin you have to earn the right to slow the play-the-ball,” Fittler said.
    and -
“If he had a different face and was wearing a different jumper, he might have got away with that.
    “They’ve got three (penalties) back-to-back.”
Peter Sterling could sense the controversy in Fittler’s comments and responded by asking commentator Ray Warren: “What’s he saying, Rabs?”
Warren: “I think he made it very clear.”......................

Reynolds penalised in State of Origin game two after being allegedly squirrel-gripped by Thaiday

The moment that, once again, Queensland and Sam Thaiday proved how dirty they really are.
In the 53rd minute of the match a NSW line dropout was caught by Thaiday on the 40m line.
If Adam Reynolds’ reaction is anything to go by it would appear the Maroons back-rower squirrel-gripped the NSW halfback as he, Josh Jackson and Dylan Walker completed the tackle.

I may not agree with what you say but I do admire your courage and loyalty.
It's a home game for the Cows and they have a good record up there.
If the Sea Eagles did manage to scrape a win against the Cowboys I would not be too surprised, but if they actually flogged them, on the scoreboard I mean, I would go into a state of shock and end up in Saraphee Hospital.

Just read that article about five minutes ago and had a good belly laugh about it.

Written by one DAVID CAMPBELL of The Daily Telegraph, a rag on the lowest rung of the gutter journalism ladder.
I would not wipe my arse on this newspaper never mind take any notice of the garbage printed in it.

Every time QLD wins, which seems to be more often than not, this rag publishes trash talk like this, making out QLD are the dirty players and NSW are little angels.
Jesus, even the local village idiot would not swallow that.

And every time NSW scrapes a win the low class hacks at the Tele make out that NSW are far superior to the banana benders.
They obbviosly have not had a look at the SOO records.
Whatever makes them happy I suppose.

I agree, the local papers always protect their local teams which is why I don't take any notice of the crap they write.
I spent 6 months in Oz recently having medical treatment, physio etc. and never once picked up a newspaper. Commercial television over there is rubbish and advertising +.
The TV stations in NSW do nothing but praise the Blues and bag the Bananabenders, and vice-versa. QLD tv is just as biased.

Being born and raised in Brisbane I followed the Broncos for years but became disillusioned by them and their one-eyed fans so now I don't really follow anyone but the underdog.
I do like the Storm and would like to see them win a flag without cheating the cap and as much as I can't stand Paul Gallen I would like to see the Sharks break their drought. Storm / Sharks gf sounds good.
This week I am going for the Rabbits, Knights, Cronulla, Brisbane, Titans, Storm and Cowboys.

BIG is beautiful — and it’s also the path to State of Origin success for the Blues tonight.
That’s the opinion of NSW legend Steve “Blocker” Roach, who has outlined his blueprint for an upset victory at Suncorp Stadium.
The one-time Origin enforcer wants the Blues to use their size upfront to “intimidate” Queensland in order to win Game Two and send the 2016 series to a decider in Sydney next month.
“If we play the way we should we’ve got a massive forward pack, big boppers on the bench,” Roach told League Central TV.
“If we play like big men I reckon we can handle them.”
He went on to outline how the Blues could “upset the apple cart” against the fancied Maroons on their own turf.

They obviously did not listen to Blocker !

Just had a look at some stats, Paul Gallen has been playing for the Blues since 2006, played 22 games in total, so far.
Since 2006 QLD has won every series bar one, in 2014. That's 10 out of 11 series.
And Laurie Daley wants Gallen to play the last game of this series, his last Origin game, and send him out a winner !
    Un-fucking-believable.
And I bet he will be remembered as a hero down south.
    They immortalize dogs down there.

"With Queensland having already claimed victory for the 2016 State of Origin series, Game 3 shapes as a chance for New South Wales to begin planning for 2017.
Here we bring you reaction to the NSW Blues team for State of Origin Game 3.

There were concerns coach Laurie Daley would use the game as a chance to bid a number of the team’s stalwarts a final farewell.

With the team named, the reality is somewhere in the middle. Captain Paul Gallen is in the team, as is his deputy Robbie Farah. The former has announced this will be his last Origin, while speculation over Farah’s future at club level means his spot in the Blues’ squad for next year is in doubt.

However, Daley has also named a number of new faces, with James Tedesco and Wade Graham to make their long-awaited Origin debuts.
Is this a team to claim a consolation win and start building for next year?

    1. James Tedesco
It would seem a tad harsh that Matt Moylan was dropped, having performed solidly in the first game and being one of the Blues’ more dangerous players in attack for Game 2, but this position should have been Tedesco’s from the start. Injury kept him out of the side for Game 1, while perhaps Laurie Daley’s stubbornness (he calls it loyalty) saw Moylan persevered with in Game 2.
Regardless, Tedesco finally gets his chance in the sky blue jersey, and if he plays anything like he has been for the Tigers, he’ll terrorise Queensland. There are rumours he is about to sign a million-dollar a season deal with the joint venture club – money that reflects his ability as a player. Tedesco is the complete package.

    2. Blake Ferguson
Had some brilliant around-the-lace pick-ups when Queensland were aiming to grubber over the Blues’ tryline, and made some strong return runs off kicks. A lack of attacking opportunities weren’t exactly his fault, but with NSW’s glut of talented outside backs, Ferguson’s place in the side would be far more assured if he were to score a try or two.

    3. Michael Jennings
Probably lucky to keep his spot after a largely underwhelming series so far. His trademark speed has been largely absent, and some poor defensive reads led to at least one Queensland try in Game 2.

    4. Josh Dugan
There will be questions over whether he should be playing in the centres, but Dugan needs to be in this NSW backline. He’s one of the best in the comp with the ball in hand, and his defence is right up there as well. You wonder what could have been in that 6-4 loss for Game 1 if Dugan had been present.

    5. Josh Mansour
It would be unfair to blame Mansour entirely for his opposite winger, Dane Gagai, scoring a hat-trick, but neither can you absolve him of all blame – especially when both Blake Ferguson and Tyson Frizzel put in much bigger efforts to catch the runaway Maroon for Gagai’s first four-pointer.
Much like Ferguson, a lack of attacking opportunities see him needing a couple of meat pies to retain his place when the series is alive again next year.

    6. James Maloney
His kicking options haven’t always been the best this series, but Maloney is dangerous when running the ball, and he has answered questions over his defensive capabilities strongly.
While not everything he tries comes off, you can’t fault the Sharks playmaker for lack of effort. In fact, with senior players Gallen and Farah surely playing their Origin swansong, Maloney must be in the conversation for a leadership position in 2017.

    7. Adam Reynolds
After going down injured in Game 2, there were concerns Reynolds would be out of action for as long as two months. But having played for Souths on the weekend, the Blues selectors were confident in naming him for the third match of the series.
Reynolds needs a big game. While the NSW selectors have been criticised for not picking and sticking – particularly in the halves – you can’t really stick with a player who doesn’t perform. Reynolds was quiet in Game 1, and solid without being spectacular in Game 2. A dominant performance would ensure he’s there for Game 1 in 2017, anything less and we’ll have another debate about Mitchell Pearce’s merits.

    8. Aaron Woods
Again, Woods has been called upon to eat metres for the Blues. Despite having the front row dominance in Game 2, NSW couldn’t make it count on the scoreboard. Woods and James Tamou form an imposing combination, but you sometimes wish they would project the enthusiasm and aggression of David Klemmer.

    9. Robbie Farah
One of the best hookers of the modern era, but whose time seems to be limited both at club and state level. On the outer at the Tigers by all reports, and possibly on his last legs at Origin level, Farah is still an elite player. He has great skill and workrate, but made a couple of crucial mistakes in Game 2.
Needs to run like he did in the first half of Origin 2 to break up NSW’s monotony in attack.

    10. Paul Gallen
One final game for one of Origin’s greatest toilers. Gallen proved in Game 2 that the biggest game of rugby league is not beyond him, working his short but strong frame through the Queensland defence more often than he was stopped in his tracks.
A legend will be farewelled next week. Congratulations to Paul Gallen on a wonderful Origin career.

    11. Wade Graham
One of the most skilful big men in the game, Graham is an imposing presence both in defence and on attack. He’s the new model footballer who, along with players like Bryce Cartwright, will develop how backrowers are supposed to play the game.
Rubbed out of Origin 2 with suspension, but he’s already shown Laurie that he will indeed play an Origin game, and I can’t wait to see what he brings.

    12. Josh Jackson
NSW supporters said they would miss Beau Scott this series, and there’s little doubt his aggression and temperament were needed. Jackson provides exactly what Scott does; tireless defence and thrust in attack, but is a bigger body. On paper, should be a superior player, but needs to work on making his presence and aura felt around the park.
You know when Beau Scott’s defending you. Jackson needs to do that in his own way.

    13. Tyson Frizell
The find for NSW this series. He was dynamic every time he had the ball in attack in Game 2, and made everyone who looked at him think twice about trucking it up his way.
A ferocious defender and possessing great footwork and speed, he rivals player like Jason Taumalolo as the best new backorders in the game. A great call-up to the starting side.

    Interchange

    14. Jack Bird
One of the most improved players of the last two seasons, Jack Bird is an asset. The prototype modern player, he can play anywhere from halfback to winger. He reminds me a lot of a younger Luke Lewis, possibly with a few extra skills in the kit bag.
Nothing against Dylan Walker, who is a wonderful runner of the football, but Bird fits the utility role a lot better for the Blues.

    15. James Tamou
Will play from the bench, and that’s probably a good thing for the man-mountain. A fresh Tamou coming on to terrorise Queensland will make Kevin Walters think and re-think through his rotation strategy.
Possesses great footwork for a huge man, but we’ve seen precious little of it so far this series. Needs to fire up!

    16. David Klemmer
It doesn’t matter what you say, and how good or bad his club form, Klemmer will probably be picked for NSW for next half a decade. Simply put, he’s the most passionate player they have at their disposal, and that’s everything in Origin. Will need to rein it in and inject himself at the right times.

    17. Andrew Fifita
Fifita has played okay this series, but shouldn’t pretend he’s done any better than okay. It’s time for one of the biggest bodies in rugby league to impose himself on contests like these, like Willie Mason did in his pomp for the Blues.
He has all the tools. Speed. Size. Footwork. Now he just has to use them.

    Development players
