Welcome to TD. No home field advantage here.Originally Posted by redhaze
props. you just used a 3 week old article that only took into account 2 GAMES of the season to justify your argument.
bottom line: theyve had by far the easiest schedule thus far. lets see what they can do vs atl, statistically (theyve played a bunch of shit Ds) the best O so far.
Teams coming off a bye generally do well, its a big advantage.
That said, the dirty birds have just beat last year's superbowl teams.
The birds are in the midst of a ten day road trip, as they elected to go direct from Denver to Seattle, to keep travel down. Interested to see if this will payoff.

So the three noobs are all Seahawk haters. Should be an interesting thread this season.
I lived in Seattle for a short while back in the mid, to late '90s. It was all about the Sonics, back then. No one had much good to say about the Seahawks. Fair-weathered lot.Originally Posted by bsnub

Yeah, I see it the same way.
I'm from the area, originally.
"12" is the year they became Seahawk fans.
I intentionally did *not* wear any Seahawk gear b/c I didn't want people to think I was on the bandwagon.
On Facebook people show selfies of themselves with painted facies, hats, scarves, and Jerseys - but they never did that in 2011.
People even take pictures with the 12th Man flag at a wedding. (Stupid.)
There are however, some long-time, dedicated Seahawk fans at the base who followed the religiously since 1976.
In general, many Seattle fans - that even go to Seahawk and Mariners games do not the details of the game or team, in general.
Pete Caroll deserves to be liked IMO. I know many call him "Pete the Cheat" from his days at USC, but he's done well in Seattle (with John Sneider).liking Pete Carroll. It just goes on, really. Utterly intolerable people.
In general, Seattle fans are fair-weather.
There were some more dedicated fans that got hooked on the Mariners during and after the 1995 season. However, for the last 15 years the Mariners have been a badly run organization, and they lost respect and attention. I think it was fair to walk away from the M's.
The Sonics attracted the fair weathers also. (Hey, we're from Seattle). George Karl had some great teams and the Sonics went to the NBA finals in (1996 if I recall correctly).
If a team is mediocre for more than 2 years (or so) people don't follow too closely, except for the dedicated fans.
Now....do we notice a new bandwagon in Seattle and Western Washington? Damn right.
The new fairweathers are raving about the UW Huskies. They are strong and hot. #5 in the nation (of possibly biased SEC and ACC voters against them of the top 25).
I went to a lot of UW Husky games as a kid with pop, and went to a Rose Bowl and a couple other bowls.
The UW Dawgs went through the highlight of the Don James years, withered a bit, had a crap jerk coach (Jim Lambright), Newheisel came in and was tossed, they went mediocre and are now blazing.
Ya 115 consecutive home sellouts is a good sign of that.Originally Posted by beachbound

AFC team was always Seattle for me, til they joined our NFC West and started beating us...... I like Cleveland now.... Because.....
With the Cardinals being worse than advertised to date, like em or hate em, the Hawks have an excellent shot at taking the division.
That is true. Its early and the division is wide open. End of the day its gonna be the Cards or Hawks that take it. This week is pretty important, Arizona has a game they should win but nothing has been a given this season. Hawks have a test against a good (but not clearly legit just yet) Atlanta team.
Should be a good week of football here. Starts in 45 minutes!
Interesting to date... Hauschka doing his best to lose Seattle the game....
Oooooops Earl Thomas III interception
^ Seahawks played like shit. Sherman gave up two TD's on blown coverage. Very uncharacteristic of him and missing Kam Chancellor played a part. It's clear Russell Wilson is still hurt as he was not mobile at all.
Got lucky on that last play because it was clearly pass interference. On to Arizona. Looking for a Jets upset tomorrow.
