^ fuck. another one has popped out of the woodwork

But the smellies actually beat us - so congrats.

This win will give the poms confidence and the series is now wide open.

    Bring on the next one!

Are you for real, the best you can hope for is a draw in the odd test here and there due to the weather, if we have a good summer then 5-0 England.

How does the Aussies losing the first test make them any more likely to be in with a chance to win or half the series?

    C'Mon fellas.

Yes, you bowled a hell of a lot better then the Aussies and Joe Root was the difference with the bat.

Having said that the luck went the Poms way right from the winning of the toss and through-out the match.

4 games to go and I doubt Watson will be playing anymore in this series.

Some really clever posts from the smellies. Fuck me, I'm amazed some of you can use a keyboard - seriously moronic jargon from all of the 'new pommy cricket fans'

I know you must be on a high after beating us after so long but please don't forget to close the door on your way out once you lose the series and flounce from the thread will you

I've seen it happen many times before and are quite the expert you see. Poms are not only the smelliest but also a very timid species which hibernate in droves when they lose in cricket.

Australians are graceful win or lose. Poms gloat when they win and go home and sulk when they lose. fact.

Yep- Australians outplayed and out thought in every department.

The most disciplined out cricket I've ever seen from England, and cook's captaincy was absolutely spot on.

When wally wants to talk about everything under the sun except what's happening on the pitch then you know things are roses for England.

I suspect England have just retired Haddin and Watson to join Harris. Hopefully there will be a couple more to come at least.

    Roll on Lord's.

It's the dream start to the series and nothing more.....

Still a lot of work to be done but I'd rather be in our position than theirs.

We have our confidence back and hey now realise they are not as good as they think they are!

    Please don't drop Watson......

Credit to Clarkey, he refused to say that his team were shit and kept complimenting the England team for their work in all departments.

But even so it's good to see Wally Dorian Ruffled.

That's fair, imo. We played well, bowled great as a unit and had some batsmen do the job. The Convicts at times bowled well, but were inconsistent. Things went our way at all times in this test, and that will even out over the series.

Still a long way to go, a new start at Lords - an even playing field (hopefully a really dead one...).

Congratulations to the Poms for the win, they deserved it,been out in the bush with no
tv, radio and really slow internet and was ready for the last day with a tv coverage.
Shock- horror- nothing to watch, all over red rover.
saw a bit of the high lights, Root batting just rooted me.
Clark needs a kick in the nuts for losing his wicket,at least now the selectors should give
Marsh a go instead of Watson, he is like pommy plumbing ,too hot and cold.
Bring on the next test and hope the weather stays fine for the all round champs AKA the
Aussies go through the poms like a dose of salts.
