Apropos of nothing: I wonder what's happened to Haseeb Hameed?

Gonna be released by Lancy next month. What a fall from grace that's been.

Well, at least England made a fight of it in the end and, while it's never nice losing against this lot, they've deserved it and have had by far and away the player of the series.

    Fuck.

Now the questions begin. What next for In-ger-lund?

Big decisions to be made I fancy.

But I doubt they'll do too much tinkering for the Oval.

Anyway, well played the convicts, deserving winners.

Mark Taylor, in his commentary was waxing lyrical of the Captaincy of Tim Payne in this, the 4th Test.

    Yeh, maybe, a little improved.

But TBH, he's got the hugely experienced Steve Smith @ 1st Slip giving advice which was absent in the 3rd test.

    ---

Irony was that Labuschagne, the Batsman bowling spin to the Spinner turned Batsman ... and got his wicket.

I don't think there's a team in world sport that goes from the sublime to the ridiculous (with more of the latter) as seamlessly as England do.

So, who's to say what's in store?

I'd imagine the Aussies will be sinking a few about now.

They might wanna check the bill very closely though. Especially if the barman is a pissed off English cricket fan.

    Lyon was poor
Paine had a good day, his career best
Lets face it though Smith, lab and the quicks carried the team
    They had 6 passengers

Posters like you are emblematic of the reason your team is generally reviled throughout the world of cricket, as I stated earlier in the thread.

    Stay classy, pal.

They might have won, but England fought till the end and gave us a scare. Point to mention Stokes classy walk when not given out.

The umpires and DRS are terrible

Drs would have given him out.

At least Paine saved reviews for last session. I reckon Langer said dont review unless 95% sure it's out

Overton was brave. Best of the poms with the bat. Archer a poor game. Lazy when batting and one trick pony with the ball.

8 to 12 years of misery

Broad and Anderson to retire soon
Archer is quick but no heart
    Stokes cant carry the side
Leech is ok but no world beater

Maybe they win tje ashes back in 2031 if they are lucky

He could have used bat pads more on the leg and off side. Waited til last session to do that. Otherwise he made good calls. I was surprised he bowled Head on front of Smith but maybe Smith has issues bowling or doesnt practice after neck hit

My best mate was at the game and was Whatsapping me about the lower order putting up a fight. We've been here so many times before though and after the umpteenth time of incompetence from the batsmen it's the thinnest of straws at which we clutch.

Stokes should be captain. Root isn't up to it. Root has been fairly good with drs but otherwise just lets games drift and had no idea what to do with Smith.

This I agree with as I said earlier.

I think Stokes would wear it well.

    Good luck and remember: England!
    No chips here
    Years of success
Another 12 to look forward too

The Poms could do with some sportsmanship led by Stokes.

Broad/Root are just bad sports and have no class
