    Before Sunday’s USA-Japan main event final, Germany and England meet for third place in the Women’s World Cup.

    The match is set for Sunday at 3 a.m. GMT + 7 (Sat. 4 p.m local) from Commmonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Canada.

    Germany, FIFA’s top-ranked team, was knocked off by No. 2 America 2-0 in one semifinal. While an own goal in extra time did in England as it fell to Japan 2-1 in the other semi.

    Germany was the runner-up in 1995. England, No. 6 in the world, had never before made the World Cup semifinals.

    Sadly, England defeated themselves...Japan didn't even have to beat them...

    Somehow Japan almost ended up in penalty kicks (extra time first), so it really looks like USA will be heavily favoured, unless Japan raises its game...
