well, we lost 2-0, I'm reluctant to check through the match stats for other games in case all the players we shunted off are setting the world alight in their new homes

Pompey won 3-0 at home to Dagenham with 17,000 there to watch. Will catch them here at Mansfield in October. Just up the road. Red hot favourites they are this time so hopefully will be up there come that game and bring a decent travelling support

qpr managed a 2-0 loss to charlton, even without charlton using their 7ft striker (not really that tall but i can't be bothered looking it up).
the rebuild seems complete then; replace the mercenaries with other shit players doing the same shit job, but for less...
hopefully this is just a kneejerk whinge, on friday i felt quite buoyant about the new season before it started

Believe this belongs here---great sportsmanship in League 1

Doncaster Rovers let Bury walk ball into the net for injury-time equaliser in great show of sportsmanship in League One

Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov said he "didn't really think twice" about letting opponents Bury walk the ball into the net for an injury-time equaliser on Saturday after his side had taken the lead by mistake.

Doncaster's Harry Forrester had inadvertently given his side the lead in stoppage time when he tried to return the ball to Bury's goalkeeper, who had knocked it out of play following an injury, but saw his "pass" sail over Christian Walton's head into the net.

Dickov tried to persuade the match officials to call for a foul throw-in and disallow the goal, but when that failed he ordered his players to allow Bury's Leon Clarke to dribble the ball into the net from the restart.

"I didn't really think twice about allowing them to equalise. It just wouldn't have been right for us to take three points in the circumstances," the BBC quoted Dickov as saying after the English third tier match ended 1-1.

"It was just an unfortunate ending to the game. Harry Forrester hit the ball too sweet and I was just hoping it wouldn't go in.

"When it did we just had to allow them to score because you can't win a game like that."

Bury manager David Flitcroft said Dickov had "put football in a good place with his sportsmanship."

"Because if you lose morality the game has no substance for me," he added.

"I've got the ultimate respect for Paul Dickov. He tried to get the referee to award a foul throw initially but then he's allowed us to score from the restart."

    Watch the goals below...

While there is no law stating the ball must be returned to the team in possession at the time of an injury, players usually abide by the unwritten sporting code.

Forrester, who held his hands up and immediately apologised to Bury players after his goal, took to Twitter after the match to say it had been completely unintentional.

"Apologies to Bury for the shank. I haven't got that placement from 40 yards I can assure you," he said. "Totally accidental."

And they haven't played in leather shorts and bikers caps since Elton John sold up.

Not that I can take the piss with us being knocked out of the League Cup by a striker we sold on.

Pompey won 2-0 at Plymouth so should be top or there abouts. Went there a few times in my youth and it always kicked off. Rival naval ports and all that.

Also knocked championship Derby out of the league cup 1st round midweek winning 2-1 at home. Was hoping for a draw so I could take my lads to the replay oop north where we live, but the win dooos.

we're still in the FA Cup and we haven't conceded a league goal at home, thats marketing spin for we're out of the Capital One Cup and not won in the league.

Quick update on Wigan's season. They started shite, improved then turned crap again. All they need to do is improve their away form and their home performances and its sorted, oh and stop getting themselves sent off and it's in the bag.

Pulled off a 5 goal stinker against colchester at home, missed it due to heavy fog in the cerebral region after a beer festival

Any wheat beer mixed with apricot? Wheat beers go great with slices of lemon, lime or orange and apricot is a citrus fruit as well.

I feel like a little bladdering myself.
