Thread: The Commonwealth Games

Having lived in the LOS for a long time, I had forgotten about these games. Now living in KL we have 8 channels dedicated to them. Very entertaining, countries I did not know were in the CW. An Isle of Man swimmer against the might of the Aussies, plus much more. Beating the GP hands down.

Hopefully that will end soon. Two countries joined since then that were never even colonised.

Mock all you may but it is still entertaining.

What I do like is the "para" athletes are part of the games, not a separate event. Gives them exposure and I am sure bigger crowds than they have ever experienced, it must be great for them.

I thought it was open to all former members of the British Empire so why doesn't the US take part?

China could probably qualify too since they were economically controlled by British gunboat diplomacy for quite a while.
