    That would be Poirier then.

The least he deserves, to be fair.

Is there a channel somewhere that covers UFC 24/7. Like news, past fights, promotions etc?

They had one in Korea when I stayed there, it was in Korean but I had it on all the time in the background.

I have HD Prime setup at the bar, I usually show SkySports News when there's no live sport on.

That delayed reaction from the Barboza KO.

Tony time's been called. Jaysus that heel hook. One tough Mo-Fo.

    Oliveira v Chandler title fight.

Gotta be one of the most entertaining, intense, high-speed, to and fro title fights in history. Every 30 seconds looked like the other guy was about to win it.

I just watched the rest of it, the arm break was horrible!

Jacare’s doctor shares update on horrific UFC 262 arm injury

    24

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza suffered a broken arm in Saturday’s UFC 262 fight against Andre Muniz that will require surgery to fix.

For the second Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) pay-per-view (PPV) in a row, a legend of the sport has had one of his limbs broken in half.
At UFC 261 it was Chris Weidman who suffered a tibia-fibula fracture that left his leg bent 90 degrees halfway down the shin (see it). Last night (Sat., May 15, 2021) at UFC 262, we had to watch (and hear) Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza suffer a horrible arm break that finished his fight against Andre Muniz in the first round (see it).
“Jacare” took the injury with surprisingly good humor, waving off the concerned ringside physician and smiling as he discussed the end of the fight with Muniz. Some hoped that might mean the injury wasn’t as horrible as it sounded as it was replayed again and again on UFC 262’s broadcast.
But, it turns out Souza is just crazy tough:

MMA Fighting reached out to Souza’s physician, Rickson Moraes, who reported “Jacare” had suffered a fractured right humerus, which is the upper arm bone between the shoulder and elbow. Souza will undergo “urgent surgery” in the next few days in the United States before returning to Brazil.
The loss is 41-year-old Souza’s fourth in a row and second grisly loss. Back in Dec. 2020 Kevin Holland knocked the Brazilian submission specialist out cold (see it), and now “Jacare’s” bone was snapped by another hungry up-and-comer.

UFC veteran and fellow old dude Dan Hardy had it right: UFC isn’t matching up veterans against each other any more. These days you’re more likely to get matched against the latest young buck to tear someone in half on Dana White’s “Contender Series.”
It’s unclear whether this was the last time we’ll see Souza in the Octagon, but he’ll definitely be out a while healing his arm. Whatever the case, “Jacare” gave us a good ten years of wild fights and impressive performances.
    Here’s hoping for a quick recovery ...
UPDATE Jacare is out of surgery heading into surgery tomorrow and looking happy!

Yeah, the sound more than anything.

    Just ...... SNAP.

He took it like a man, in fairness.

As did Tony. Apparently popped his knee in that heel hook and continued to finish another round.

Was disappointing to see him lose.

That boy really has to have his face and head sliced open before he gets G'd up and fights.

DP v McGregor next month in the 3rd of their trilogy.

Reckon it will depend on if CMG can switch back to his previous style of being light on the lead leg, zipping in and out with that narrow karate stance. If he keeps the new style of standing heavy and slugging it out I reckon DP will take him again.

Watching the prelims and Paul Craig's armbar that just snaps Jamahal's arm and every ligament in it before laying elbows as he refuses to submit.

I'll agree with Kabib ( ) If Conor doesn't get him in the first, it will be DP.

    Tomorrow morning around 11am-ish.

Can see DP knocking him out again unless CMG reverts back to his style 7 years ago.

A fine way to start the day culminating with the EC final at 2am.

The old feisty Conor McGregor is back to his usual trash-talking best ahead of his hotly-anticipated trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier on Sunday (AEST).
The pair will face off in the Octagon for a third time with the ledger all square at 1-1.
Watch Poirier v McGregor 3 at UFC 264 live on Main Event, available on Foxtel and Kayo on Sunday 11 July at 12pm AEST. ORDER NOW >
Their previous two fights have both been won by knockout, with McGregor claiming the first fight back at UFC 178 in 2014, while Poirier easily won their rematch in January this year at UFC 257.
The stakes are extremely high for both McGregor and Poirier.
UFC promoter Dana White has guaranteed the winner of the fight will get the chance to contend for the lightweight belt against Charles Oliveria.
Poirier goes in as the slight favourite, while McGregor will be looking to bounce back from a poor showing at their rematch.
Apart from his loss to Poirier in January, McGregor has also lost to Donald Cerrone, Khabib Nurmagomedov since 2016, as well as his crossover fight to Floyd Mayweather.
The Irishman has been talking a very big game in the lead-up to the trilogy fight, both on social media and at the press conference face-off.
McGregor has also dragged Poirier’s wife into the pre-fight smack talk in an attempt to get under his skin.
Earlier this week, he posted a screenshot of what appeared to me an Instagram message request from Poirier’s wife Jolie.
When some UFC fans doubted the legitimacy of the screenshot, McGregor doubled-down, posting a screen-recorded video of him supposedly retrieving the message request from Poirier’s wife.

At the press conference, Poirier hit back and said: “You used to be better than that, your trash talking used to be better than that. F***ing weak.”
It was just the beginning as McGregor threw insults throughout.
“I’m gonna dance on your head,” he said.
“I’m gonna go through his head, put holes in him and take it off his shoulders, that’s the goal. He’s done here. This is it for him. This is the end of the road for him.
“Saturday night he’s getting walked around that octagon like a dog and put to sleep.”
And the back-and-forth continued on social media after the press conference.
McGregor posted a photo to Twitter of himself showing off his ripped physique, to which Poirier replied: “Your trash talk is as thin as your hair these days! See ya soon champ.”
The Irishman hit back straight away, dragging Poirier’s wife into a very personal sledge.
“Your wife wants to see the hair around my d*** and b***s bro. See what that’s like,” McGregor wrote on Twitter.
“It’s real the message request mate, no trash tralk. Man to man, it’s f****ed up! I seen your interview with Mike you think it was fake. It’s not. Have a think on it in the sauna anyway.”
Here’s everything you need to know about the fight.
    Where is the fight?
The fight will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front a 20,000-strong crowd.
It’s a return to the traditional home of UFC after the previous fight between the pair in January took place in the Covid-19 safe haven of Abu Dhabi.
    When is the fight?
The preliminary fight card will start on Sunday at 8am (AEST). Coverage of the main card will begin at 12pm with the McGregor-Poirier fight likely to get underway around 1-2pm.
How can I watch the fight?
You can stream the McGregor-Poirier fight, as well as the main card, via Kayo or watch it on Main Event. The pay-per-view price is $54.95.
    Tale of the tape
Both McGregor and Poirier are 32 years old and are 5-foot-9-inches tall.
The Irishman just has the edge in his reach of 74 inches compared to Poirier’s 72 inches.
However, the American has a slight advantage of 40.5 inches to 40, which he used to full effect in their previous fight in January with some brutal leg kicks.
    What are the betting odds?
Poirier goes in as the slight favourite with the bookies, paying $1.80 in the head-to-head market compared to McGregor at $2.
There are a heap of other betting markets you can try your luck with:
    McGregor KO/TKO Round 1: $5.50
    McGregor KO: $2.50
    McGregor via submission: $23
    Poirier via KO/TKO Round 1: $8
    Poirier via KO: $3
    Poirier via submission: $7

DP's got the fight, CMG has or at least had the skill. Hard one to call.

DP in the 2nd or 3rd unless CMG is on the absolute top of his game again.
