^ It was a bit of a circus freak-show, Conor fighting a man almost twice his size..

It's like Diaz, going up to 205 to fight Rumble Johnson or Cormier...

To be honest, Kmart - I was right only in Theory, because Diaz absorbed those kicks much better than he did from RDA...
In fact, I don't think the leg kicks helped him win the fight, at least not as much as his conservation of his energy/pacing himself did.

Dicks advice to Conor, for the trilogy fight, would be to use body kicks. He will be less inclined to injure is shins as Diaz did check a few with his knee..

In my Muay Thai fights, I learned the hard way - that the Thais reflexes were superior as they would mostly check my leg kicks (ouch)...
If you aim your kicks higher (mid-level body kicks) you can have the satisfaction of hitting flesh with a bit of elbow/forearm...

I think Conor's kicks were swift alright, but not 'heavy' kicks.

Anyway, if he can make 145 lb (which I doubt) he should try, otherwise settle for 155 lb and test his mettle there.

Too many killers in 155, and I don't think McGregor would make the grade. If his ambition is to dominate a weight class, then FW is where he should stay for the time being, regardless of his tortuous weight cut. I think its become very apparent after the last 2 fights, with his excellent striking aside, he is still not the complete fighter. That being said, i think Connor knows full well that after winning the FW title, the belts are no longer the priority at this stage, his huge following and draw is whats important right now, big money fights is where its at for Connor McGregor between FW/LW/WW. He's holding a massive fanbase at the moment, which doesn't always last forever, dash for cash! Just 5-10 big exhibition fights, and Connor can retire a very wealthy man.

    Champion : Eddie Alvarez
    1 Khabib Nurmagomedov
    2 Rafael Dos Anjos
    3 Tony Ferguson
    4 Nate Diaz
    5 Edson Barboza
    6 Donald Cerrone
    7 Anthony Pettis
    8 Dustin Poirier
    9 Michael Chiesa
    10 Michael Johnson
    11 Beneil Dariush
    12 Will Brooks
    13 Al Iaquinta
    14 Gilbert Melendez
    15 Rashid Magomedov

That division is insane, he should stay well clear.

^ I think you mean 155 lb... if you do, then yes - he will face much tougher challenges there, than he did stomping the featherweight (145 pounders)...

I think you are right, it's all about the money now. he said the shit is about to hit the fan, he could be trying for the mayweather fight, it's a circus now.

^ you are right, he is a colorful character, and if he wants to fight mayweather, rtfm.

On a tangent I think diaz got the best line when they were trading barbs in the build-up to the first encounter.

Well UFC 203 is almost upon us, I am not as excited about this card as i have been for others for some reason, but the main event between Overeem and Miocic is bound to be entertaining, and probably short.

Both fighters are good from range, but Miocic with far better cardio. I am favouring Overeem, he has a diverse skill set, and has learnt to protect his vulnerable chin, and conserve his energy.

If he gets Miocic into clinch exchanges he will most likely win, if Miocic can put Overeem on his back, or gets in a good strike he will emerge victorius, and anything beyong 3 rounds favours Miocic.

Werdum and Browne, Browne is tough, but Werdum will smash him I think.

CM Punk and Gall - got to go for Gall.

Faber and Rivera - I think Rivera is the better fighter and Faber is past his prime, lets see if I am right

UFC 204 Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson 2

should be good, Henderson won the last one years ago
clean ko'ed bisping out cold , then purposly smashed him an extra blow before the ref could step in

    I hope Bisping wins
but he looks a bit lame here with his pointy finger

^Yep. Caught it live yesterday. Henderson dropped Bisping with that same right hand bomb again twice... Bisping all kinds of tough to withstand that punishment and pick off Henderson from the outside. Good fight.

UFC 205 at MSG almost upon us and a great card in store.

McGregor v Alvarez: McGregor can win, but I think this is Alvarez's to lose. McGregor has a massive reach advantage and can get a KO, but if it goes past 2 rounds the fight will go to Alvarez. I think Alvarez will succeed in closing the distance and prevent McGregor from fully utilizing his devastating strikes, and then submit a tired McGregor in R3.

Woodley v Thompson - Thompson was scarily, matrix level good against Hendricks, and Woodley is the same type of fighter as Hendricks, unless it was some kind of off day for Hendricks, this indicates that Thompson is going to crush Woodley. I imagine a KO in R1 or R2.

The 2 chicks - not going to even try to spell their names - actually no idea, never watched either fight.

Weidman v Romero - wow, intriguing match up. Weidman overhyped and Romero amazing, but is chinny. Gut goes for Weidman, don't know why.

Tate v Pennington - never seen Pennington fight, so not sure, but I think this fight is a cookie for cupcake and she will use it to try and claw her way back into contention again.

Edgar v Stephens - got to be Edgar, most likely by UD.

Nurmagomedov v Johnson - Nurmie should be fighting for the LW title not McGregor, but anyway, Nurmie should win this by rag-dolling and slamming Johnson all over the Octagon, a W for Nurmie by way of TKO in R2. Only thing that gives me pause that when he beat Horcher, he did not look quite as good as when he rag dolled RDA a couple of years ago, but could just be ring rust.

Anyway, should be good, not that I will get a chance to watch it.

    ^ Thanks, wrongway...

Download it from TPB... I always get it late Sunday evening NZ time. (Saturday American time).

Mac G win.. will/should pick Alvarez apart from range.. hopefully he can keep it standing and stuff the takedown.

^ Not sure about that, he could not keep Mendez off him and he is much smaller than Alvarez, also Mendez did put some GnP on McGregor, but he wasn't strong enough to bother McGregor, but that won't be the same with Alvarez.

I have also just looked at the stats for Pennington and am inclined, just based on those to believe that she has a real shot against Tate, I will be betting on the upset on this one. and Alvarez is the underdog, crazy.

I will definitely DL, its one to keep too. I hope there will be some great fights!

Pretty strict UFC, they go to other organizations as roids are right there.. Aldo's problem he want out of the UFC, but when he leaves he will be fighting guys on roids... I am looking forward to this one. Huge card, and I am hoping even the under card free here in Thailand. The last 3 hours for sure, but often we get more.

You would have to be pretty naive to believe that ped use in boxing isn't extensive. As AO says the ufc have become quite strict in the last few years.

    Karolina Kowalkiewicz

Pre fight - while the opponent paces up and down like a maniac
she stands calmly, smilling like a Parisian hooker from some old film, maybe the pink Panther
