Final score England 29 Wales 18
Very mobile England team and well impressed with the home side's second half performance after some indiscipline during the first 40.
Lots of effort from Wales also but just couldn't find any penetration. Enjoyable open rugby.
Yep, we nearly scored an excellent try on turnover ball on our own 22 - good headbutt tackle from ThrepennyBit; shows we are developing as a team.
Wales still not at their best, but we played pretty well.
As I said before the 6 nations, our second rows are developing into excellent players. &, 13, who I didn't think would be good enough, has played well the last 2 games.
We need our first choice props back though...
Happy with the last two games, ok at home, but beaten two good teams.
Cycling should be banned!!!
Right.... firstly I'd like to apologise to the welsh team.
Jamiejambos was right, my negativity caused the defeat, I thought he was talking bollocks when he said my defeateist attitude didn't help, but he was right. I said 12 and it was 11, so I'm clearly to blame.....
I guess calling it right doesn't matter.
I think Wales are a team that have just reached a point where they have had enough success that they are finding it difficult to get up for that big extra push to take it to the next level. The side might just be in need of some new blood, I'd like to see some new faces in the side to face Scotland, particularly Jarvis or Samson Lee in the front row to give big Adam a break. Also like to see Rhodri Jones or Paul James get a start. It's not that our front row was particularly bad, we got the shove on England more than they did on us, I just want to see something new. The Melon didn't have his greatest game fell victim to a good tactic of the blinside managing to get enough pressure to turn him in badly (not that he was straight to start with any way).
We were completely at fault for the first try, just switched off thinking England would kick from that point, it was hardly the stuff of genius from Care.
We butchered one clear try and didn't help ourselves on two or 3 other visits to their 22 with The Docs awful kick and some knock ons.
But worst of all was the first half tactic, if that was the game plan it was a fucking dumb one..... there is only one reason Priestland has the 10 shirt, that is because he moves the backline better than anyone else, it sure as fucking hell isn't for his kicking. He is shit at that and so it proved. Far outkicked the coverage (when he wasn't finding touch on the full) and just generally all round shit. We looked a far better side when we played the way we normally play after the break.
On the positive side, the line out was good apart from Hibbard's terrible overthrow that cost us a try and I also wouldn't fault the effort displayed. They fought hard for the most part despite looking like a jaded side. They seem to be mentally tired rather than physically.
England had some good moments, they were thoroughly deserving of their win but I saw nothing to really scare the world in that game. Mike Brown continues to impress, Burrell is a handful, particularly we he plays as the lead blocker in the I formation......
Good to see Twelvetrees have a moment for them to rave about because they'll keep picking him.
Worst thing is that Halfpenny is out for the rest of the seaso, which means he has played his last game for my club.
Don't put all your negativity on me bob ,I didn't lose wales the game. It's not my fault you have no faith in you're team.
I don't BLAME ANYONE FOR Scotland's DEFEAT against france except Scotland who gifted france a try through a school-boy error, the game is done and dusted.
Grow-up and dry your eyes.
I'd agree with a lot of what Bob said.
England played well against Wales and Ireland, but neither brought their A game; if they had, we would have lost those games.
Twelvetrees isn't great, but is needed, if he can provide good options, IF, because our 10, who played very well, is limited with ball in hand and we need more options...
Burrell did so some excellent blocking on 3 or 4 occasions...
We certainly need more, but we are developing and improving, and very much better than we were not so long ago - we also have about 4 top players to come back (1, 3, 8 and 12). If you look at our stats of line breaks, tacklers beaten and yards made, it was almost entirely down to Brown, very much helped by poor kicking and crap 1st line chasing.
Wales and Ireland both let themselves down tactically.
It may be good for Wales to get these shite games out of the way now and come back stronger for the WC. I reckon with England, Ireland and Wales likely to be strong at the next WC, we may not see a great balance between North and South...
Jamie.
I must say in all my forum years I have never ever come across anyone with no ability to detect humour, irony, sarcasm and even friendliness........ until now.
You are a truly remarkable being..... as someone who had read this thread said to me in person yesterday.....
"What is that bloke on?.... he comes across as a fucking nutter"
Personally I don't think you are quite that bad...... yet.....
^ Drinking with Butterfly again were you Bob?
Hope he wasn't as negative as you Bob. Sorry that you don't agree with some of my comments on here Bob but all of them represent a true reflection of how I perceive poster's and their post's because I always try to be honest. Just an
observation on my part is that you don't seem to be an individual who would inspire and instill a great deal of confidence in anyone . Please believe me that I do know when someone is being sarcastic, Funny or ironic when the occasion arises.
It's not that I don't agree with you, it's just the funny tough guy way you try to deliver your message.....
"Don't blame your negativity on me Bob" I don't, I called how I thought a game would go and I was right.
"Grow Up and dry Your Eyes" I don't see me crying about anything, the game went as expected, we got what we deserved.....
Grammatically awful (you are clearly an apostrophy freak), but I'll try to answer.....as I said, I don't think you have any reliable skills of perception at all.... that seems to be your problem. That you try to insult again and again just sums you up....... I've tried having a laugh with you, but you just seem to come back with childish abuse each time. Frankly, you are rather silly and far too immature to have a sensible discussion about sport....or politics.....Originally Posted by jamiejambos

You are well within your rights to accuse me of being grammatically awful but not
if you're just as bad, please look up the spelling of '' Apostrophe ''.
If you want to bemoan the Welsh loss to England that is your prerogative but I fail to see why you should mention my name. Last year you were wrong and this year you were right! Stop bleating about it and let it go and stop being so immature about it. My friends who have read your posts think the same way as I do that you come across as a bit of a loser and likely to give up when you come to the first hurdle. Whether you read my posts again Bob is entirely up to you because to be quite candid with you I couldn't care less.

Fair play Bob, you called it right. Realistically, there was no way England were going to let Wales win that game. That mentality made them look bigger and stronger.
I've mentioned Halfpenny's try-saving tackles using his head on here before. The guy is a fucking warrior; but if he keeps on doing it I fear it's gonna do him some real damage.
Preistland should never play for Wales again.
JD2 was poor and looked like he'd just come back from a long injury lay-off.
Mike Brown is playing like a man possessed - drug test him
Must be that thing he has going with Alan Well's wife; can certainly see it in his power and leg drive...Originally Posted by flashbang
Do you think the Lions tour took a lot out of the Welsh side? Both teams affected by post tour injuries, but disproprtionate effects on the Wesh including some loss of form perhaps?.Originally Posted by Bobcock
