Yes, when in doubt 'player who looks most like christopher walken in 'deer hunter'' is always a good option.

Had the band on Rooney but removed it after that shit CL performance.
I'm unsure between aguero and hazard.
Not sure if Mourinho will see CP game as a chance to rest hazard.
Then there's always that chance at the moment that whatever the oppo suarez will go on a tear.
Really tough one this week.
worries me that hazard played the full 90 yesterday
i foresee a benching
Good news for all ye injury stricken boys.
hull played with 3 centre halves against swansea
hope they stick to that
looked solid and a guaranteed 6 point haul from james chester
Silva back in for Nasri this weekend. good news for the noonster.

you don't need to spend 25 million on a ready made striker or 8 million on a prospect, pretty much the only way for most teams to survive is to scour the bargain buckets or get players on loan from the bigger clubs

I'll be surprised if they both start.
That's why I went for Yaya.
Yaya is a beast this season.Originally Posted by cyrille

i'm a week away from pulling nasri from my team but i'm not going to spunk 4 points a la zehn
if he doesn't play, i'll have the poz brace at norwich to count on
i suspect they'll leave navas out and go with nasri and silva
kinda hard to score when he's on the bench though...Originally Posted by ChiangMai noon

poz is the creative spark the team needs
he was imperious against the mags
swans look flat as crap without him
Mackay didn't sign Velikonja. It was a Tan purchase. Mackay and Moody had looked at him a while before but decided against it. Fuck knows what Tan was thinking.
I think it's a little early to be making any judgements on Cornelius as well. He's played about half an hour altogether all season. I'd imagine that Mackay very much expects Cornelius to make a contribution but he's young and coming back from injury so why put pressure on him and undermine Campbell's confidence? Also, there's at least one player that didn't materialise in the summer due to the internal politics and/or issues with getting him over here. That may have been Jefferson Montero, a player that would be expected to create chances for Cornelius's big head or possibly another striker.
Regardless, I'm not sure we can go and judge Mackay's 'eye for a striker' based on Cornelius just yet. This guy could be a bargain for all we know. That's what they're gambling the 7/8 million on.
don't you think an 8 million quid gamble is a bit more than any club in our position ought to be making?
we are not chelsea or man city who can farm their gambles around europe on loan
i can't think of another team that has spent that sort of money on potential (outside spurs)
surely the absolute priority was finishing above 18th
we have no width...none whatsoever....i know they failed with ince and montero but i hope to god they have someone lined up for january
i really don't see malky being around by that point though
what an utter twat
he'd do well in thailand
you need to get rid of that guy as quickly as possible before you become Malaysia Dragons FC
1. wear shirt and tie
2. wear football shirt (in olour of your own choosing) over the top
3. Pull your trousers up above your belly button
still, at least you're not Hull
i don't think there are people lining up to buy football clubs
i don't really understand the finances but i don't think they actually make any money do they?
not unless they get relatively successful and retain a strict budget and strip all the assets like blackpool's owner has done
probably just using it for money laundering, tax evasion, corruption and other shit like thatOriginally Posted by ChiangMai noon
you certainly wouldn't want to show a profit on the official books
i know that swansea do...probably west brom alsoOriginally Posted by NickA

That's assuming Mackay felt he was a gamble and that these other players were coming in. Talk was that the money was there and I'm sure Mackay would have figured everything in. Our other two (relatively) big signings have been huge successes. Let's wait and see whether Mackay was 3/3. Doubtful any manager achieves that.
With the width we missed out on because of that Ince [at][at][at][at] and Montero not coming in, yes, we've lacked that width. Had we had it, there's 3-4 more points we might have picked up. Or not. Regardless, we're doing OK for a team that's overwhelmingly still a Championship side that's been undermined by a nutcase chairman.
Basically, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon criticising Mackay. What he's achieved in the past couple of years dictates that he should be given the benefit of the doubt after a handful of poor results.
