Yeah, I instinctively thought it must be something to do with his attitude. There's no way in the world Wenger leaves out his best player, especially with Ozil out too. Wenger probably should have just left him on the bench for the entire match though if he's making a statement. Bringing him on to immediately humiliate him by being the catalyst for everything Arsenal did in the second half just made Wenger look like an even bigger dipshit.

Writing's on the wall now for Wenger isn't it. Rumours that that Max Allegri is going to take over though my understanding is that it's still Wenger's choice to make. Which is the height of stupidity really though when the decision would alternatively go to Ivan Gazidis whom Wenger himself gave the job, it doesn't really help.

We always thought Arsenal was one of the well-run clubs. I suppose that only comes down to staying in the black by ripping off their fans and consistently doing just enough to get that supplementary Champion's League income.

It's always difficult to make these transitions smoothly, eh? Tell everyone and make it effectively a testimonial season or keep schtum and let uncertainty fester?

It really does look at the moment that AW is rather tarnishing his legacy. The game against Bayern will surely be played in a weird atmosphere.

It's a weird one with Wenger though isn't it as it's rather like a new interpretation of what success is or isn't. By most measures he's been successful for his entire tenure but according to many he hasn't been successful for a decade which has transpired in tandem with a stadium move, a huge increase in ticket prices and profitability.

But success from a financial perspective isn't success from a supporter's perspective. Even though....they've still been reasonably successful with a few FA Cup wins. It's just that Wenger's teams have a consistency in just fading away every season at some point. Enough that they're almost never in any danger of doing anything but they always sneak into the top 4. It's incredible consistency of both success and failure.

I'm beginning to feel rather sorry for Arsene. With the protest and then that humiliation, it wasn't a good night.

Ali out for Sterling for a hit was not exactly a masterstroke.

After all that the thing that worked best was having a Stoke defender.

May as well. I'd only have five players (non-existent forward planning) playing and these are players I'd like to get anyway so the hits will hopefully be offset by points and I'll have players I want earlier. Season is already fucked. This wqeek didn't help. That pointless late West Ham goal...

I'd probably wildcard if I were going for that many. After all, the bench boost everyone's saving it for was a total flop for most last season.

-4 to put 9 out for me (hopefully).

Antonio in for Snodgrass and he's scored already.

    Bad news for the patheticos.

Meanwhile Mozza and Rondon sitting on the bench too.

So Jebus got the lowest score among the teams in the top half of the szs table.

    Interesting.

Only a couple of points less than me.

Looking at people's teams. It really is a bit of a maverick of a season. All over the place though yours looks pretty 'orthodox', Cyrille.

    it does.

my differential is brady and he's getting ten minutes per match as dyche prioritises solidity ahead of creativity.

i'm trying again on the differential.

i still think jebus's one up front approach will bite him on the bum again as it did previously with that lukaku haul.

I wondered whether that was the result of substitutions like it was for me. I even captained Llorente as a punt. Thought Boro might be ripe for a pasting. Jebus has him too. Apparently he was injured.
