^^Just seen this. Thunder had amazing one-punch KO power. I remember watching him spark out the Grimsley guy with the first punch thrown in Rd 1. It was on "Tuesday Night Fights", as I recall..? Sad to hear of his demise after brain surgery. RIP Jimmy.

I'm not much of a boxing fan but even I remember at the time that his omission from that Olympic team was controversial.

This Saturday night on pay-per-view from Las Vegas, WBC heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder defends against challenger (and LINEAL!!!!!!! champ) Tyson Fury in a rematch of their first bout from Dec. 2018, one of the most controversial results in the last few years.
In that first outing, Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KO) dropped Fury (29-0-1, 20 KO) two times, but Fury otherwise outboxed the defending titlist to the point that most in the media and fan base seemed to believe Fury deserved the win on points.
But it came back a split draw, with neither man losing his “0,” the green belt going nowhere, and plenty of controversy and demand for a rematch.
After some curveballs and left turns in 2019, we’ve arrived at that rematch, as the two promised would happen in due time. Last year, Wilder knocked out Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz, while Fury stopped Tom Schwarz and scraped out a tougher than expected win over Otto Wallin.
Wilder is 34, Fury is 31, and neither man has shown any huge signs of aging or whatever; in reality, they’re still pretty young for heavyweights, right in what should be their primes.

I thought Fury won easily on points last time, but Wilder dropped Fury twice during the bout, the second KD especially looked like Fury was completely unconscious but making a Lazarus-like ascent off the canvas to dominate the rest of the fight.

50-50 for me. Fury will outbox Wilder all night, but Deontay just has to land that Tomahawk-missile right hand (biggest leveler in the sport right now) and it's all over.

Fury just has to jab and run and keep Wilder at length and step back a lot. He knows what he's up against now.

I saw it described something along the lines of: 'Fury has to win rounds Wilder just has to win one second'

I will be pulling for Fury as I do not like Wilder but man Fury can not afford to make a single mistake this weekend.

Fury is a different class than that street thug.

Wilder had Fury down twice in that first fight and on the second knockdown Fury rose from the dead like the undertaker and went on to even win that round, so Wilder will need more than your one second. And don't forget that was Fury's first competitive fight in 3 years.

I have no idea who will win the fight. I don't like Wilder at all, but he keeps doing the business, win after win, and I expect him to do so again. I hope to be proved wrong.
