With the Big Drama Show in London this weekend, one potentially fantastic fight (for the purists, anyway) probably going under the radar this weekend is boxing's undoubtedly P4P best, Roman "Chocolotito" Gonzalez moving up a weight class to take on Super Flyweight's best fighter Carlos Cuadras.
Cuadras vs Gonzalez: Fight preview and analysis - Bad Left Hook
Gonzalez will join some of boxing's greatest names if he bests Cuadras for a 4th weight div World title. I love watching this guy. All action style with fantastic punch combinations allied to a gentlemen's demeanor outside the ring.

Only seen the guy once against ""the Hawaiian Punch" Brian Viloria who's a good fighter by any ones standards , Gonzalez took him apart at the seams , Gonzalez's workrate is on another level to most fighters today and I'm inclined to agree with you about your P4P assessment of him , there's one thing for sure, you will never see either of em in Thailand fighting a Thai . Just take a gander at his record http://boxrec.com/boxer/319725

GGG aint that good- no one wins that many in a row by ko unless the opposition is weak.

Also looking at him he don't look a happy/ healthy camper
Maybe immigrant heavy shithole, raining London reminds him of kazakstan that he escaped from

I see him getting totally gassed out by the later stages , 9 or 10
and getting stopped by viscous body shots from Brook....

but then i have a speculative £10 on Brook win at 4-1

But I'm just off out, so I might increase my losses with a few silly £1 round bets , or even Brook on points 9-1
    umm
then there's the draw - cant remember the last one in a big fight ?
    but a poor 33-1

Well I nearly got it right ,GGG finished it in round 5 I predicted round 6 , Brook was rocked in the first but rallied in round 2 ,according to the write up the fans got their moneys worth and Brook lost no caste in losing to one of the most ferocious hard hitting middleweights for quite some time , the big question is who's next ? Maybe Daniel Jacobs who just destroyed Sergio Mora on Friday here is his record http://boxrec.com/boxer/432984 .Golovkin wins by TKO5 when Brook?s corner throws in towel | Boxing News | Fightnews

Good effort by Brook, but looks like GGG busted up his eye socket, and was starting to beat him up in round 5.
Full fight here while it's up:

Yeah great fight while it lasted and thanks for the Vid Kmart , personally I thought the stoppage by Brooks corner was a bit premature , however what was said in his corner after the 4th is pure conjecture and Brook lives to fight another day with for him a record purse , maybe Golovkins next fight could be against Daniel Jacobs who took ex World Champion Sergio Mora apart at the seams on Fri , Golovkin by now must be on very friendly terms with his Bank Manager and If I was him I'd take on Jacobs for a last Mega payday and then win ,lose or draw hang em up with nothing left to prove .

Brook did well, but seemed to lose heart; he's no Hagler...

GGG is a nightmare to box because he gives you no space or time, so as soon as Brook stopped throwing punches a lot of punishment came. But, when Brook kept throwing GGG was on the back foot (a bit) and looked a tad tired/disheartened a few times. If Brook had Hagler's heart then he could've won that fight or come very close, imho.

^Watched it on Boxnation this morning. Terrific fight. Gonzalez couldn't bully the guy same as previous weight class, but just the massive volume of punches he threw gave him a clear victory.

Seems that Brook may have a broken eye socket, and cracked ribs from those GGG bombs. Probably the adrenaline wearing off in round 5.

Yeah you are probably right Dill , but I did say about what was said in Brooks corner was conjecture , Brook himself said he wanted to be carried out on his shield , but Brooks team are second to none, and in view of his broken eye socket and cracked ribs which I was unaware of at the time on reflection did the right thing

The point is: if you talk the talk... "Brook's a warrior", "Brook would rather be knocked out than give up." All the words were there, but the actions of touching his eye non-stop, looking at the ref, the corner pulling him out, etc, says he couldn't back it up...

Now, I didn't expect him to be able to, and he did better than I thought he would, so credit to him. But, the fact remains, these British fighters have all the mouth, but they are just not in the class of Hagler, Hearns, even Benn and Collins; these fighters would have kept going and either won, been knocked out or finished the fight with nothing left in the tank.

Brook had a lot left and could have continued. OK, he was beaten and the corner decided to pull him out, I don't have a problem with that, but they need to shut up about the warrior stuff, being carried out on his shield stuff, etc.

Brook is a very talented boxer, massive ego, limited heart. Nowhere near top level, imho. Although, he has the talent and abilities to have been top notch - has better skills than Nigel Benn every had, but the way Benn walked through punishment from McClellan (who hit a lot harder than GGG) or the way Hagler walked through punishment from Hearns (who hit a lot harder than GGG) or the way Leonard walked through punishment from Hearns (who hit at least as hard as GGG) is in stark contrast to what Brook can do.

I just get the sense that these fellas have massive egos, step in the ring for multi-millions, then look for a way out when the going gets tough.

If Brrok was gracious and said something like "Yeah, he hit so hard, it shocked me, I just couldn't take it...", fair enough, but he's already shooting off his mouth of how he'd beat Canello, etc. Bored of these massive earning ego maniacs falling short and still mouthing off.

I mean, look at somebody like frank Bruno, he was pasted by Tyson in his prime, and pasted by Lennox Lewis, but he stood there and took massive punishment while still trying to fight back. I thought that was what boxing's about...

Liam Smith is decent, and should show us how good (or not) Alverez is. But, Callum Smith is the real deal, and I reckon he'd beat Alverez and have a great fight with GGG.

Liam is a decent fighter at domestic level and his upcoming bout with Alvarez is class wise a journey into the unknown for him, looking at Liam;s record suggests he's been fed a steady diet of tomato cans , but best of luck to the kid ,as for Blue's remarks about Alvarez and GGG getting it together ,I doubt "Daddy" Golden boy would sanction the fight cos once his "Golden goose" has been exposed especially if he gets flattened his marketability will nose dive .http://boxrec.com/boxer/466535 here's Liam's record .

This is a very interesting article on the GGG Brook fight ,and of course I invite comments on it , it endorses Dillengers opinion that the fight was rightfully stopped by his trainer , Brook lives to fight another day without serious injury which might not have been the case had it continued further "It could have ended up seriously bad" Kell Brook defends trainer's decision to throw in towel against GGG
