I'm a Muay Thai guy, big Mc G nut hugger...(ops.. I mean fan).

But even I have to admit, if it's a straight boxing match with gayweather, he will get spanked...
Sure, he's 40... but give him credit where it's due, he's the best defensive boxer of all time.
I can't see him landing leather on Mayweather.

Of course, if Mayweather fought him under MMA rules, he'd get wrecked (and vice versa)... I just think boxing and MMA are so completely different, that any crossover is unfair and farcical....

    But hey... money money!

^Load of hype, bullshit, and another poke in the eye for boxing, imo. As if it needs another.
A guy who has never fought professional boxing before, being given a chance against boxing's consummate professional, and defensive genius (whether you like him or not) Floyd Mayweather..?

Would anyone give Mayweather a chance against a top wrestler, or MMA fighter under their rules?
    Of course not.

MMA gloves have much less 'padding' i.e thinner than boxing gloves.

The OZ press are reporting Manny Pacquiao reportedly signed a contract to fight the unbeaten Queenslander Jeff Horn in Brisbane on July 2.
If true i will put my hard earned on Horn, like his style and power.

On This Day 10 April 2004 Lamon Brewster, a 7-1 underdog, won the vacant WBO heavyweight title by sensationally stopping Wladimir Klitschko.

^ Was watching and was totally surprised. Brewsters mother had just died and he used that to motivate himself. Never did much after that.

^ Wasn't that the same inspiration used by Buster Douglas to defeat Mike Tyson?

I remember him promising Mike would have to kill him, the bugger would not quit.

It's like all the stars aligned, the underdog focused all their energy for the ultimate performance of their life (never to be repeated again)... presumably, their life-force spent...

No that was just a lucky punch. Anyone that is over 200lbs/90kg is capable of knocking anyone out with one well placed punch.

^ Nah bro... that was a balls to the wall performance (with a bit of luck and the kitchen sink) chucked in for good measure...

Mike wasn't the same fighter after Cus (his mentor/father figure) passed away.

I still think a prime Mike, would give any heavyweight (now or past) either a belting, or a very hard fight...but this is a very contentious issue and very subjective...

Just checked ... February 11, 1990. Hard to believe it's been 27 years.

Well for Brits at least the Joshua Klitschko fight is the only thing worth watching at the moment.

Ringside two grand seats are a minimum of ten grand if you can find them.

29th April, date for your diaries.

Joshua is going to knock the shit out of him, but it's a nice retirement payout.

What do you gents think about Joe Parker? (Kiwi heavyweight WBO champ).

Tonight it was suggested he would get pounded if he went to Europe (not by Muslim terrorists) I mean by their boxers...

I used to think he was a contender (I still hope he is) but I wasn't impressed with his last performance.. I suspect Joshua would smash him..(sorry Joe).

Just being honest. Still, will be interesting to see.. your thoughts?

^ hard to say mate but he has not fought any real talent. He has to go to Europe or America and find better talent. BTW he is sixth ranked in the world. So I think we will see more of him.

I think that Luis Ortiz is the guy everyone is afraid of.

    Amature time from the presenters,

klit looks in great shape, hes as boring as hell, and was trigger shy and shite last time
but think I'll bet on him to school that African.

27 ? and he hasn't fought a decent opponent yet ? with all those KOs
I cannot see him having enough experience,
I'll go for him gassing out in round 10 after getting his face mashed by jabs,
klit will them just coast to the finish

    ^Nope.He's too quick.

He's been training his arse off.

If Kiltch hit's and holds, then it might be a different ball game, but he's an old man...

^Depends what Klit has got left. He looked slow and clumsy last time out (against Fury, who had very good movement and footwork).
Joshua has great power, but limited movement (fights in straight lines, a la Frank Bruno stylee). But I'll pick him to beat the old guy.

^ I'm picking Josh, but would secretly love to see Klit win.

At the very least, I hope it's competitive (not just a walk over for Josh).

I really (REALLY) wanted Klit to beat the snot outa that wank-stain Fury. (alas)..sigh..

Hey, any kind soul have a link to the fight? Cheers lads

    Edit:

I reckon (hope) he might have another great fight left in him. We shall see... Post up a link guys! Dill you got a link?

Coverage starts at 3am Thailand, but I'm guessing you'll be well into your beans on toast before the main event commences.

I'm afraid the 41-year old is going to get beaten up, and will probably end up using his wealth and experience to cling on like a limpet.

Let's face it, the commie's only there because he was bigger than the rest of the shit that's been out there for years.

Not that Joshua is necessarily anything special, but if he can't knock that old man on his arse he might as well retire now.

^ I think you guys are underestimating Klit... he's not just a tall, octopus (like Fury) he is a fine boxer, with highly developed skills.

AJ's main weapon is his speed and power in offense - his main weakness is his awkward defense, stiff movement.

Klit has the edge in technical boxing skill and vastly more experience (also better foot work too IMHO)...

Hopefully should be an awesome fight. ( Link pretty please!)...
