^ Thanks for the link, Blue.

Just watched the full fight (Joe vs Ruiz)...

Joe looked amateurish - tentative against Ruiz... he needs to tighten his defense which looked non-existent.. leaves his chin up, hands down...
I can't see him beating Joshua and I think he'd struggle against an aging Clit-KO...

I know I'm changing my tune guys... but I'm just being honest... very disappointed in his performance... I thought Ruiz won TBH... he was lucky.

Ruiz had a guttural determination - which sadly, Parker was lacking...

^Yep, broadly agree. In the fight build-up it said that they have previously sparred together, and Ruiz hit him hard and cut him maybe accounting for the tentative display by Parker.
Elsewhere, Terence Crawford put on a clinic against the limited-but-game John Molina. Pretty much played with him and gave his hometown fans a display, before dispatching him in the 8th. Brutal finish. Crawford has a killer instinct and a nasty streak to go with the skill set.
Couldn't find a source for what sounds like the best fight of the weekend's action.-
Jermall Charlo making a big statement by stopping talented unbeaten #1 contender Julian Williams in the 5th round defence of his Jr Middle (IBF) crown.

Yup, Parker didn't show anything to make me believe the hype. Then again Ruiz also did very little to make me think he was any better. A draw would have been a fair result.

^Lol. From recent boxing's most un-professional world chump to undoubtedly it's most dedicated hard-working exponent of the art; Bernard Hopkins has his swan-song fight this weekend, drawing the curtains closed on an amazing career and longevity in the sport.
ESPN's Dan Rafael gives a 17 year retrospective of knowing Hopkins:

An inside look at 17 years, stories from covering Bernard Hopkins - Boxing

Bit of an ignoble end to Hopkin's career. -Knocked out (of the ring too) in the 8th round.
He looked slow and faded up this point, tbh. Just flashes of the former champ, and brief unsustained periods of activity.
The first time he's ever been stopped ought to be a pointer to the fact that he was at least two fights (he got a beatdown against Kovalev in 2014) into territory that she shouldn't be occupying any more.
Still, going out on your shield isn't a bad way to leave a sport you have dominated for more than 20 years.

Carl Frampton vrs Leo Santa Cruz
    is upon us,
I don't usually watch such low weight category fights,
but I've taken a particular dislike to Santa Cruz - an ungrateful plastic Mexican, due to his anti-Trump comments.
He could always move to Mexico, and spend his money there helping the local economy, but no, he will stay in the USA and bitch like a gay to milk the snowflakes.

I hope, and think, Carl will twat him around the ring.
He should do the ring walk wearing a make America Great again cap.

^He is a good fighter though. This is a rematch of a "Fight of the Year" in 2016, so should be real beaut. Hoping Frampton beats him by a wider margin this time, or even stops him. Please don't bet on Frampton though, as you will inevitably doom him to defeat.

What other conceivable reaction is a Mexican going to have to Trump?

Glad I didn't stay up for that one then .

Frampton also admitted that he had been caught out by his opponent's tactics on the night.
"I think it was the right decision, I thought it was close," the Northern Irishman added. "He frustrated me at times, I didn't expect that game plan, the boxer got out-boxed by the brawler. I thought it was the right decision, I hope we can do it again, it was a close fight.
how the fuck can you get caught out by a guy boxing instead of brawling?

Santa Cruz seized a tactical advantage by drawing Frampton out of his preferred counter-punching style, with greater use of the jab on the end of his seven-inch reach advantage.
He had told us he would make that adjustment to his usual all-out attack and, like Frampton and his mentor Barry McGuigan, we should have believed him
    .

He had the balls to admit defeat, there will be round 3, as both are class guys. Unlike you.
