^Yep, Stevens has enormous punching power and timing early on in fights. If GGG can withstand the early onslaught, or just get to him first he will probably win by another KO.
Should be a real 'don't blink' brutal fight while it lasts.

Yeah Kmart thats how I read it too ,of course I could be wrong here but I do not recall Golovkin fighting a know "banger" before , Stevens record speaks for itself , and the big advantage he really "fancies" the job ,but then again so does GGG, so as you rightly say this is not one of those fights you can go to the fridge for a "cold" one until the bell rings for the end of the round!

This Sun on True TV 8am Hopkins V Murat, for me this will be another "boresville" kind of fight, Hopkins ain't scored a KO since he fought De La Hoya 10years ago and for my money De La Hoya just give up , However the fight I am looking forward to is Peter (kid chocolate) Quiillan V Gabriel Rosado For Quillans version of the World Middle weight title, for me the "glamour division" of the noble Art , If Quillan comes through this one and Golovkin through his with Stevens ,a Mega money fight could well be on the cards between the two, we'll just have to wait and see how the fights pan out .

Agreed. I hope Sergio Martinez has a couple more fights in him at Middleweight also.

Hopkins is usually in bore-fests these days, although he is such a technical / dirty boxer that he usually wins handily against guys half his age. I would like to see Sergey Kovalev retire him inside five rounds early next year though. Kovalev is the guy to watch out for at Light Heavy now. He absolutely hammered Britain's Nathan Cleverley last time out.

Yeah and Cleverly ain't no tomato can, having been unbeaten till then and Ko'd Murat in 10 rounds in 2010 !, I know its not a lot to go off as styles make fights , I often wonder how many world class pro fighters from the Eastern bloc Countrys and Cuba there would have been if professional boxing was not banned at the time ,of course a few Cuban made it big time ,but I think that was before Castro ,and now again theres quite few Cubans making it big time I am glad to see , I often think how Tefelio Stevenson the Cuban heavyweight sensation would have fared again the top Americans .

This is getting a mite ridiculous!!, Hopkins V Mayweather , Hopkins is after on big payday before he hangs em up for good , can't blame him for that of course ,but making the weight at his age is hardly advisable IMHO , there,s a few good matches for Mayweather Without making the sport into a circus Boxing News | Hopkins vs. Mayweather at 160lbs?

Well we don't have long to wait now for this "mouth waterier ", Steven's certainly talks a good fight ,but as we all know to win a fight you have to "walk the walk " Too , This could well be a match were both "taste Canvas" keeping your opponent there for 10 seconds is quite another matter!, having given it no end of thought ,I have decided to out on a limb and go for Golovkin Via a Stoppage before the 6th round , The video is quite interesting to say the least Video: Stevens in Beast Mode To Knock Golovkin Out - Boxing News

I've not seen it advertised for true TV but that does not mean a lot , normally the fights are on between 8 and 9 AM here so I will be flikking through the channels from 7 30 onwards ,for me Peter Quillan hardly gilded the lily last week when defending his section of the Middleweight title , and whoever wins tonights fight could make mega money fighting him ,all pie in the sky as yet so I'll be watching developments closely , in Regards to Martinez he's a bit long in the tooth and has had injury problems too, super box fighter ,but having said that not one of my favourites although his record speaks for itself ,and he could go for one big money fight before hanging them up for good!.

IMHO Houston is one of the most Shrewdest judges in boxing today ,I've been a fan of his for years and more often than not he gets it right , tonights match is one of those fights that anything can happen ,its always the same with known "bangers" ,it will be interesting to see if his judgement (and mine) is correct Boxing News | Golovkin-Stevens: Full-distance fight isn’t very likely

On a separate note, I think that cheeky upstart Groves is gonna get a lesson and a spanking from Froch.

Would either of the 2 fellas above have a chance against Froch? I suspect not. Froch never looks great, but he is hard and fit and big and gets to most folks eventually. Knocked out Brute easily enough...

Well it would appear that the Golovkin V Stevens lived up to the pre fight hype of being a war ,with Regard to the Upcoming Froch V Groves fight ,although unbeaten George has never fought and beat the class of opposition that Carl has , Bute was on a 30 fight unbeaten winning streak until he came up against Froch ,who surprised one or two good judges by taking Bute apart at the seams ,has to be Froch by Points or a late stoppage for me,here is the write up of the "war" In Madison square garden Boxing News | Golovkin finishes Stevens in eight, Perez defeats Abdusalamov in slugfest, Afolabi wins IBO belt against Janik

The GGG-Stevens fight was on Stadium 2 channel on CTH. What a fight, and apart from a few good shots that briefly shook Golovkin, GGG did a real number on Stevens, knocking him down in round 2 and stopping him in 8, when his corner halted the beatdown. GGG proves he has an iron chin to go with the frightening power. Awesome.

Awsome is right!, according to the post fight reports he wants Martinez next, IMHO Martinez is a far better boxer than Stevens who relays on his power a bit too much , the look on Stevens face when he looked up was frightening!, its going to be interesting if Martinez picks up the gauntlet , mind you with the money that will be involved its a decent bet that he will .

Yeah The problem for Martinez is he ain't got the firepower to keep Golovkin on the back foot , Martinez is a great defensive boxer with lightening reflexes ,personally I don't think that will be enough and at 38 I reckon in that class his best days are behind him ,Golovkin might even move up to Super Middleweight as he's well big enough to carry the extra weight ,he very likely went into the ring at fight night a super Middleweight anyway , whatever happens its big paydays from here on in for Golovkin , a big puncher with a jaw of iron , a rare attribute these days!

It Looks like Golovkin's next defence will be in Monte Carlo on Feb 1st, as yet a Challenger has not been named , reading the article it would appear unlikely it will be Martinez ,I await GGG's next opponents name with anticipation Golovkin to fight next on February 1st in Monte Carlo

With all the recent hubris about GGG, maybe people are forgetting just what a great boxer Sergio Martinez is.? He sustained a knee injury in the fight against Chavez Jr that has really hindered him, and only had one lacklustre fight since the injury. He was #2 in the P4P ratings also.
I reckon a fully-fit Martinez would give anyone problems. He made Chavez look foolish in the fight before that mad 12th round. He busted up Kelly Pavlik and basically retired him. He also scored the KO of the year 2 years ago, annihilating the previously granite-chinned (and most avoided fighter in boxing) at that time Paul Williams.
Martinez has great hand speed, intelligence, and can bang a bit too. If the fight gets made and he is the underdog against GGG, I fancy a decent bet on him.

Yeah Kmart As stated previously Martininez is a great defensive boxer with lightning reflex's I saw the Williams Martinez fight and it was a one punch KO ,I thought then as I do now that it was a hit and hope punch as the video shows ,having said that the power was certainly quite evident , Whether the fight comes off is open to conjecture ,I doubt it will happen as early as Feb as Martinez might want a tune up before the big one ,which will no doubt happen in America if it comes off ,one thing for sure it will certainly attract a lot of attention from the boxing buffs ,if it does then we'll see if Golovkin is the real deal or just a big puncher who cannot deal with a "fancy Dan" like Martinez who will have to box him ,if he stands and trades then IMHO the outcome could well be "lights out"

Necron To be truthful I do not know much about Mundine ,only that he appears highly unpopular with the Aussie fight buffs , why is this? any way he's going to get a good pay day come Nov 27th as the Mosley fight is on again , no doubt you are not alone in hoping Mundine gets "leveled", Mosley is at 42 is a bit past his sell by date but for me is still a class act and looks after himself ,Hopkins and before him George Forman prove that age is not so much of a handicap if you are a clean liver and stay away from the "bright lights" and all its distractions , here is the latest news on the upcoming fight Mosley back and preparing, again, for Mundine bout
