Has any one out there got any idea what time the up coming July 19 World Super Bantam weight fight between Thailands Sod Kokietgym and Cuba's Guillermo Rigondeaux I believe its on Channel 7 but no idea of the time , Rigondeaux is a class act and I cannot see it going the distance ,Thai boxers don't do well at all when fighting away from home soil, whilst here they very seldom lose , which I put down to most of the opposition is of poor quality , from what I have seen Thai boxing fans don't go to watch a boxing match , they go simply to watch the opposition get a one sided pasting!

should be a good blue between the aussie daniel geale and kazakh gennady golovkin
    on sunday in new york.
i don't think gennady has been knocked down or out in 375 amateur and pro fights,
bit of wishful thinking but i hope geale sits him on his arse and comes home with the
    wba and ibo middleweight belt.

^Hopefully, Geale will provide the stiffest test yet for GGG, who has just steam-rollered through everyone in his path so far.
Don't hold your breath for Geale though. Mid-to-late round stoppage for Golovkin, imo.

I must I say Agreed with your summing up Kmart , however GGG went for an early shower ,whilst Geale must have gone to the hospital for a check up , Golovkins firepower is frightening to say the least!Boxing News | Golovkin demolishes Geale

^Was just on CTH Fight Sports channel (who from now on are supposedly showing all HBO live fights. Yaaayy! ).
Yeah, GGG didn't waste much time at all going after Geale; no respect for his punching power and aggressively cutting off the ring to get to him. He didn't bother much with the jab, and missed quite a bit even, to get off the power shots early. Geale decided to engage in the 3rd and got dropped hard. Referee waved it off at the end of the round.
GGG now calling out Miguel Cotto after the fight. Hope that gets made, or he moves up to Super Middle for something meaningful soon.

Full fight here while its still on youtube:

i watched the fight and it showed how good golovkin is,geale just could not get a handle on him,the right hand in the third by golovkin just sealed it,geale is a good boxer but it shows the hitting power of golovkin when it connects means good night, think it is now 17 ko's in a row, be a good blue if miguel cotto steps up to the plate but i would not hold my breath waiting for that after todays performance.

My Idea of a dream fight (and thats all it will ever be) would be Golovkin V Mayweather there's only 6 Lb's weight difference between Lt Middle and Middle Weight, the Purse would be into the stratosphere for a cert , ah well I can only dream eh!

Kovalev took on a light-hitting Southpaw in anticipation of the fight that everyone wants to see at Light-Heavy; the showdown with Adonis Stephenson -who also has phenomenal knockout power. And he got squared up by a straight left (called a knockdown) in the first round. Hopefully Stephenson is motivated to fight him after that, but I ain't looking past Hopkins, tbh.

You think Two American judges wouldn't score it any other way if they could have?

It's all about clean shots mate.

^ yep, but the British judge had it even, me too...

Luckily the American ran out of steam around the 8th, but our guy was strong and very fit, so kept going well - very tough opponent though the American; awkward style.

^Fantastic result for Brook. Porter was being feted as the "next big thing" topping the P4P ratings, etc.
I thought Brook did a good job of smothering Porter's aggression, and countering with his own jabs and counters. Bit of a messy fight that suited Brook more than Porter, imo.
Majority decision away from home; great result.

Now Khan wants him at Wembley. That could be fun.

No guesses as to who Blue would be backing.

Blue would want a double KO in the first.

I skyped my son (another boxing buff) in the UK who lives only 15 minutes drive from were Amir lives ,he said Khan is building up quite a "reputation" locally which has nothing to do with "the noble art" , meanwhile Bury's own (my town) Young Scott Quigg defends his version of the super Bantam weight world title on Sat(today) in Manchester , if he wins he can expect a mega payday fighting the kid from Northern Ireland Carl Frampton , Getting back to Khan, it was quite noticeable that in every one of his World title fights he has never had the National anthem played before the match even though he was born in Britain ,just saying

Khan is married to an 'American' Pakistani.
which makes you wonder why our 'British' Pakistani, has not taken up citizenship and got himself a USA passport ? then he could travel freely to America, where he seems to spend a lot of time .
    So why not ?

reason 1 : the Americans might make him pay some tax; he probably gets a tax rebate in lax Britain.
reason 2 :A US passport might make his street credit plummet when he makes the occasional visit to Egypt and Pakistan .
