Not arguing that, but the simple fact is that there has not been a heavyweight fight like that in a long time, were two big men basically banged away at each other all the way to the eleventh round. It was very impressive.

So in his post match interview Fury said "When the chips are down, I can deliver".

I think he forgot to mention voluminous portions of fish, saveloys and deep fried mars bars.

"He's a sore loser and an idiot" . . . nice quote by Fury after Wilder told him he didn't "want to show any sportsmanship or respect".

In the end the better boxer and probably better person won

Agreed, and inspite of Wilder being out fought, there was always that very slight chance that Fury could leave himself open to a last gasp Wilder right hand.

Great win for Fury, putting to rest the question, who’s the better boxer. Now he can move on to fight …… um…., well there’s…., uh…

Have they set a date for Fury v Wilder 4, yet?

    Usyk.

Bob Arum is offering Joshua a wad of cash and a guaranteed fight with the winner to step aside for a unification bout.

Boxing, and in particular the heavyweight division, is on life-support.

Fighting into your 30's is hardly unusual in heavyweight boxing.

But an open fight like Saturday's, well that's definitely unusual in that division, at least in recent years.

^Good fight. Was starting to think Alvarez was going to just leave the result in the hands of the judges cards, till round 11.

^Wot?! People can't wait to post about soccer or cricket scores, often while the game is in progress! Why is boxing any different?

Although Plant was behind on the cards when he went down, he was still a game fighter, just not in the same class as Canelo. Canelo just wears down his opponents like a meat grinder, really.

^^Yeah that's what's happened, but I just wanted to get some payback because I haven't watched replays of City v United or England v SA yet and some guys posted the results already

Who is though? He's 31 years old and I'd think his best is probably 3 to 5 years away yet, scary thought that is.

^Because it was a 1st round game of hit-n-giggle that nobody really cares about, despite the #itscominghome chant going up from the usual gallery of serial losers who're setting themselves up for more well deserved ridicule when they get dumped on their arses in a well rehearsed display of capitulation.

I'll try to remain as quiet when a 5-0 Ashes series looks likely yet again, but am making no promises at this time

Nobody and not even Mayweather in his prime could beat him now. He has, as you said, continued to grow into himself and get better and better. So the question is what is next for him?

A sneak peek at where he lives...

There's no way a test cricket team lead by that horse faced drip Tim Paine is ever going to beat England 5-0.

Yeah a lot of guys (who probably wish they hadn't) said very similar about an Aussie team with an OAP trundler like Glenn McGrath heading their pace attack too. You dentist dodgers really do take making stupid remarks that come back to bite you seriously don't you's..

Fight a couple of the highest ranked contenders each year, make a ton more money, never get beaten again, retire and play golf.
