Minutes after losing, Wilder said "I won't make any excuses, I lost today, but I had problems before the fight, my legs weren't right..."

Since then, he is making more excuses.

He made no changes from fight 1 to fight 2, rather he just lived in his delusional world. That delusion continues, he won't make any improvements then he'll be knocked out again ($20,000,000 richer...). Then he'll fight Joshua and get knocked out. Then he'll fight Whyte and get knocked out, and he'll still be making excuses...

(I heard that Wilder is an Arsenal supporter...)

    Joshua is a mad Gooner.

Wilder just wanted to sign Kolasinac up after he took on that knife wielding bandit on the streets of London.

Wilder has a 30 day window to confirm the rematch clause with Fury for the trilogy. Says it's on, yet continues to make excuses for the loss :

Tyson Fury is set to take on Deontay Wilder for the third time in 18 months this summer after the American confirmed his plans to exercise a rematch clause.
The Gypsy King floored Wilder in the third and fifth rounds before the 34-year-old’s corner threw in the towel in the seventh, losing his WBC title to the Brit along the way.
A rematch clause was agreed by both fighters’ camp before the contest and the loser had 30 days after the bout to exercise their right for a third fight.
Fury hinted after his win that a rematch was likely and Wilder has now confirmed to The Athletic that he will take the option.

‘The rematch is definitely going to happen,’ said Wilder.
‘We’re going to get it on. I want to get right back to it.
‘I’m not bitter. I’m happy for Tyson Fury. I’m happy for his journey and what he’s doing in his career.
‘We all aim to reach our goals. I’ll reach mine. It’s just that it’s never on our own time. It’s his time now. Congratulations to him.’

If Joshua is indeed a Gooner, just like Bin Laden, then I hope Fury knocks him out...

After all the HW drama subsides.. Decent card on DAZN this weekend.

Mikey Garcia v Jessie Vargas at Welterweight:
    Saturday, Feb. 29

DAZN, 6:00 pm ET, Garcia vs Vargas prelims. The prelims here feature some really good prospects, including Israil Madrimov, Alexis Espino, and Diego Pacheco. BLH will have live coverage.
DAZN, 8:00 pm ET, Mikey Garcia vs Jessie Vargas, Kal Yafai vs Roman Gonzalez, Julio Cesar Martinez vs Jay Harris, Joseph Parker vs Shawndell Winters. Pretty easily the best top three on a single card on paper so far this year. Garcia is going make or break at 147 against Vargas, who is a big step back from Errol Spence Jr but still a credible fighter, a former titleholder. If Mikey just can’t hack it at welterweight, Vargas is good enough to show us. Yafai-Gonzalez is for a 115-pound title, and the sort of fight Yafai has been trying to get for years. Martinez-Harris is for a 112-pound title. This could be a great show.
For me, Garcia too small to be fighting at 147 where he was beaten up by Errol Spence last year.
I will be watching the Yafai-Gonzalez fight. "Chocolatito" was / is an amazing fighter (P4P#1) a couple of years back before stepping up in weight and losing his Super Flyweight titles in 2 big upsets to Thailand's Sor Rungvisai. Still campaigning at 118, this time against unbeaten Brit Kal Yafai (at 115). One for the purists..

^Deffo worth a punt, imo. Mikey Garcia is blown up at Welterweight, his previous weight class was 135 Lightweight where he was an elite fighter. He basically went up 2 weight classes to avoid Lomachenko, and got mauled by a much bigger Errol Spence (for a decent payday) who propped him up for 12 rounds last year. Garcia looked tiny compared to Spence, who could have put him away at any time during the fight, which looked dodgy to me.
Vargas is a below-elite level fighter, and perennial challenger at 147lbs but he can crack, and most importantly is a natural 147lb-er. Good odds, imo.

Tyson Fury is from Wythenshawe in Manchester; it's one of the roughest areas in our city and is right next to the airport.

Best boxing action of the weekend on the undercard of the Mikey Garcia v Jessie Vargas headliner.

Four weight previous world champion and P4P#1 Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzales coming back as a challenger to UK's Kal Yafai and his version (WBA) of the Super Bantamweight (115lbs) title.

Gonzales turning back the clock at age 32, with over 50 high level fights behind him to rip Yafai's title from him with an amazing display of infighting combinations, footwork and offensive output.
Yafai was beaten up by the middle rounds and KO'd in the 9th. Gonzales back as a Champ and hopefully going on to try unify at the weight.
Try and watch a highlight reel of Chocolatito in action. This guy is amazing:

^Yep. Vargas always disappointing at top level, even against a blown up and chubby-looking Garcia. (I did lose money on this for a change).

^Yup. Doesn't look like we'll see AJ vs Fury this year then.. Wilder enacted his rematch clause with Fury for the rubber stamp #3, possibly in July.

I rewatched the fight with American commentary yesterday. For the first two rounds Wilder was decent, they were competitive rounds and Wilder got a lot of hard shots in. As the fight went on, Fury wore him down and took over, from the 3rd round onwards. Wilder wasn't as bad as I'd initially thought.

Wilder has a chance in III; Fury will have to be at his best, and it's not a great fight for him because he took quite a few risks last time; maybe Fury will be better this time? I doubt Wilder can improve. Everyone writing Wilder off is a bit too soon, he has more than a punchers chance.
