Ya I will be looking forward to that fight and it is hard to say how it will go down.
Ya I will be looking forward to that fight and it is hard to say how it will go down.
This weekend: Sat 28th, live from Staples Centre LA. Top Welterweights Errol Spence and Shaun Porter:
What’s at stake?
Spence (25-0, 21 KO) is defending the IBF 147-pound belt, while Porter (30-2-1, 17 KO) is putting his WBC title on the line. There’s more than just the belts, too: for Spence in particular, this is a chance to make a big statement against a longtime top-tier welterweight, and perhaps establish in the public’s mind that he is the top dog at 147, not Top Rank’s Terence “Bud” Crawford, who is currently stranded on an island as PBC all but fully control the welterweight division.
Most real fight fans would like to see Spence matched against Crawford, but shifty businessman Al Haymon 'manages' all the other fighters at 147lbs and Crawford fights for Bob Arum's team..
Still, a good match up on paper and a decent undercard as well.

Spence all day long...
^Yep, prohibitive favourite with the bookies as well. Porter is a live dog though, and hopefully will give Spence a much tougher test than a blown-up Lightweight Mikey Garcia, last time out.
Spence Porter is on Sky Sports Action so streams abound I'm sure.
Also on Fox PPV.
As mentioned, the Spence - Porter undercard is pretty stacked with potentially great fights too:
Spence vs Porter undercard preview: Anthony Dirrell vs David Benavidez could steal the PPV show:
Other fights on this bill:Anthony Dirrell vs David Benavidez
The main undercard attraction is the WBC super middleweight fight between Anthony Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KO) and David Benavidez (21-0, 18 KO). The title has passed from Benavidez to Dirrell without the two ever having fought, so this is a chance to settle any question over the 168-pound green belt.
Benavidez, 22, is one of boxing’s best and most exciting young fighters. The younger brother of welterweight Jose Benavidez Jr, David wasn’t quite the blue chip prospect his brother was, but he’s achieved a level of success that Jose hasn’t as a professional.
In this regard, he and Dirrell, 34, are actually very similar. For years, it was expected that Andre Dirrell, Anthony’s older brother, was going to be the world champion in the family. That never panned out. Andre was, on paper, the better talent, but Anthony has been the better pro fighter.

Well then, from the sublime we move on swiftly to the ridiculous:
Fifty five year old Benn aims to piss all over his boxing legacy with a spectacularly pointless 'comeback' against a veteran but still dangerous Bika. Wtf is he thinking? All the rumors have turned out to be true as former British star fighter Nigel Benn (42-5-1, 35 KOs) held a press conference in London today to formally announce that he’ll be coming out of retirement to take on Saiko Bika (34-7-3, 22 KOs) on November 23.
Benn, 55, hasn’t fought professionally since 1996, but says this fight has nothing to do with financial need or age — saying neither are a factor — but that he’s only made this decision to come back in order to get closure on his career.
“I’m more fit now than when I was a world champion. It’s not the Dark Destroyer anymore, now it’s Nigel Benjamin Button Benn. I one hundred percent mean that.In fairness, Bika, while out of action for a couple of years himself, is a credibly dangerous opponent for Benn here. Even at age 40, Bika has always had a reputation of a rough-and-tumble fighter, and that sort of style could be real hell on a 55-year-old man.
“I am so fit. I need closure. I could have picked an easy opponent, but that’s not me. Everyone telling me not to do it, no. Worry about him, not me.”
I think it's great
Yeah
I don't think it detracts from his legacy.
55 is not that old nowadays. He says he's in the best ahape of his life.
I kinda know what he means as I approach the same era
Um, this is the professional ranks, not pro-celebrity boxing. Whatever your fitness levels, the reflexes and punch resistance aren't there anymore. He could get seriously hurt, same as Gerald McClellan in their legendary tear-up back in the 90's. McClellan still in a wheelchair, perhaps born-again Benn thinks this is the "closure on his career" leveler.? Utterly fucking stupid, imo.
Knew he was in the shit financially when he recently did an "Evening with Nigel Benn" at Retox in Pattaya.
^ oh yeah
Nigel's next stop the Bare Knuckle Saloon?
He apparently wants to come back because last time he was just angry and now he has god on his side.
Boxer's reasoning.
Undercard has kicked off. Here are some links to watch...

^ cheers. Had forgot
Damn good fight card out of LA today. Thought the Akhmedov Barrios fight could have gone either way, that last knockdown by Barrios put him over the top. Benividez is the real deal, he took it to Dirrell and both were classy after the fight. Now for the show down. Hope its a good one. Making a Mexican meal so have to go shopping. A KO either way would be nice. This will be my first time watching Spence.
Now 10 minutes delay because of broken ropes..
What a war! This could be fight of the year! Porter is clearly winning IMHO.
how is Porter still on his feet. What a fight
Cheers snubby. That was brilliant
