Floyd Mayweather vs. Saul Alvarez 14th September

Lucking forward to this one !

Unbeaten Mexican , Alvarez 42-0-1 at 23 years old
Sure, most would be lower class opponents, but still, it shows some hunger for the game.

Watched a couple of the recent ones, he looked like he could be a bit of a handful for smaller mayweather , nice strong body shots .

So I'll go for an Alvarez win .
    Too young Too strong

I don't think so somehow. Would be an upset if he did.

I was going to start the same thread. Its going to be a great fight. Canelo does have a good shot at beating him. But Mayweather is going to be sharp as he is fighting without his usual long interlude between fights. Really looking forward to it.

Alvarez has been built up a lot for this one, but I think Mayweather will be too quick and experienced for him. The fight might actually be a snooze-fest as they are both counter-punchers. There are some great fights on the undercard though; I will be looking forward to the Matthysse - Garcia fight more than the main event.

still think it will be a great fight tonight
I think Alverez will win , always hard to see when these unbeaten fighters like Mayeather will lose . but I've seen it before - eg Roy Jones , Larry holmes etc

    here's the weigh in

^Alvarez was good there, didn't let M get the upper hand; seems smart, strong and confident. But the 'highlights' were not impressive... He was standing still hitting another bloke who was standing still; he'll be frustrated and out of ideas by the 4th or 5th round, and M will just land 1 or 2 combinations per round and win a boring match on points...

I hope I'm wrong and Alvarez fukin slaughters him.

Alvarez starts slow, sees what is coming at him and loses the first couple of rounds. Then he ups it a bit and begins to get off first. By the 6th or 7th he is getting stronger. That to me is his fight pattern and plan. Dont let Mayweather frustrate him.

Canelo is the bigger man, he is coming down in weight, if he is hydrated and strong he will be 5 kilos heavier than Mayweather.

I was so tempted to put a grand down on this fight at 3 to 1 Mayweather. I did not think that much of Canelo until I saw him take apart Austin Trout, I was well impressed. The guy is a machine, and can take a very hard punch as Trout was bigger than him.
Going to be one hell of a fight. I hope the undercard is good as well.

mayweather looks unusually big in the weigh in ?
, like he's heavier more muscular than normal, maybe it's just the cameras or as weigh is 24 hours before the fight maybe he's just had his dinner and Alverez hasn't. .
Still he looks heavier than normal , if so. I hope it slows him down just enough.,,,,

Now should I put my £5 on an Alverez by KO 5-1
or just win anyhow 2.5- 1

what is that? As i said I almost booked a vegas bet. I have a feeling like not before on this one.

its gonna be the shits if Pretty Boy knocks him out in the first few. As much as I like Canelo we are dealing with a true champion and ring craftsman, even though a freaking hate him and all he stands for.

Let's hope Mr. Schaefer has enough cash to pay everyone off after the fight. FM's take alone is $41.5M, due immediately after the fight.

Well it's 5 to 2 in the British fractional system ,put £2 on you win 5 plus your steak back.
Apparently its +275 in the USA system.
Maybe the draw at +2500 is good side bet, hasn't been one for ages, and would make for a mega mega money rematch.

More chance of Mayweather injuring his hands than delivering a KO ... I hope.

Some crunching body shot combinations from Alverez ending with a tasty left and mayweather on his knees taking an 8 second breather is what to watch for.

Don't you mean put £2 on and a steak on, you win 5, plus your stake back, plus your steak back?

Accord to AJS the fight starts at 11am Thailand.

Harry you are over complicating the process.
I'll clarify it , to make it crystal clear:

A punter enters the bookmakers with a pile of cash
A short while later exits the bookies totally skint .

Get's home to find he is the proud owner of worlds most expensive biro.

    Only cost £100
    A bargain !

I used to see people sucking those pens all the time in the bookies, I used to use them as cotton buds

What time's this fight on ?

Just because this is the biggest fight in years doesn't mean it will be the most competitive. Mayweather is fighting a pretty one-dimensional fighter here, although Canelo is the bigger man. Think Mayweather will coast to a points win.

All the fireworks will be on the undercard; Garcia vs Matthysse. Both guys can punch, but Matthysse is a fucking machine.

$25 for me on Alvarez at 3.25. Not a big bet by any means but this is the shortest odds fighter Mayweather has faced in a long while for good reasons + the $25 comes out of this weekends NRL and AFL betting profits which have been easy pickings .
