Not the best results for there EPL survival today though, with the teams above them all getting points. Still possible, hope they do it. It would be a great story for them to stay up yet again and win the FA cup.

Wigan in reality will now have to win their final 2 games to stay up. Away at Arsenal on Tuesday will require another cup final performance.

Wigan, their first major trophy and undoubtably the first team to ever win the FA Cup and to be relegated in the same season.
They will be relegated at the Emirates tomorrow night

It is now all really quite irrelevant as Salisbury City FC won their play-off final today thrashing Dover 3-2 in extra time and now deservedly take their place in the Conference Premier.

Playing Dover is about as close as we can get to playing in Europe, well done you Whites.

I watched the Cup Final but it was at the end of a long day.

Put it this way I thought we were going into extra time when Wigan scored and reading this thread it the first time I knew Zabaleta was sent off.

Wigan could easily fall straight out of the league now.
Look at Wolves, theyve just been relegated twice in consecutive seasons and they have a bigger fan base than Wigan.
When Wigan get relegated the manager will be off, so will most of the players. The fans will go back to watching the town's most popular sport and I predict Wigan falling faster than a whores draws on my payday, then trying to get back into the football league via the Scottish league, which they have tried before

    Just sayin like

I remember watching them many moons ago and they beat us (Lancaster City)
10-0. If my memory serves me right, they were in the northern premier league.

One apiece at present, Wigan just had a goal disallowed.

I'm not certain it was off side either.

I hope they win, and also stay in The Prem.
they give a good account of themselves regardless
    of their position.

There's enough room for Rugby & Soccer in Wigan.

I think the whole town was at Wembley on Saturday.

30 minutes to go. Still end to end.

Walcott just had a near goal.

    They stopped it though.

Nope the dream is over. The owner has had his golden moment, the coach will move onto bigger and better clubs, the good players will leave and sit on benches some place at 5 times the salary.

Small towns like Wigan being in the prem are fast becoming a thing of the past. 2 mega clubs within 10 miles and then Liverpool and Everton within 20. Wigan are the 4 small Lancashire Town side to be relegated in the last 3 years.

The dream was good while it lasted but they will struggle next season.

^ Me 2 but just another small town that can never compete with the big boys. Martinez had a fatal flaw to his management. He always played the same style. Fergy palyed to the opposition and the circumstance. Then again Fergy got to spend more on good scotch than Wigan did on their team!!

When I lefty Leigh Wigan Athletic were not even in the 4th division. Hell of an achievement from an non OIL Team. Sad day for me!!

Here's the Villa fans in party mood at Arsenal, taking the piss out of Birmingham City when they got relegated a couple of seasons back, also having won a cup that year

'Blues came up and theyre going straight back down'
