ARU chief says no quick decision on Deans
08 July 2013
Australian Rugby Union chief executive Bill Pulver says he won't be rushing into a decision on the future of Wallabies coach Robbie Deans.
Local media have published several reports since Australia's 41-16 loss in the deciding test to the British and Irish Lions on Saturday that the New Zealand-born Deans will be fired five months before his contract expires.
They say Queensland Reds coach Ewen McKenzie and his Super Rugby counterpart at the ACT Brumbies, South Africa-born Jake White, have already been approached by the ARU.
But Pulver says "there has been a lot of emotion and comment expressed from various areas ... we will not be entering into any speculation or debate on the coaching issue at this stage."
The Wallabies next play in the Rugby Championship beginning August 17.
