"Black Bird", a six episode offering from Apple TV, featuring Ray Liotta (RIP) and Greg Kinnear in a prison drama based on a true story. Unfortunately this will be a weekly drip feed, though the first two episodes are available now.

^ Looks good. Hopefully someone will remind me in 4 weeks.

Rewatched The Many Saints of Soprano Street, can't believe I didn't rate it the first time round, brilliant movie.

Starts off kind of slow. But there are some good parts.

Thanks. Your recommendations are always good. Unlike Harry, I llke "Dark Winds"; I like the Chief, who appeard in Season 2 of Fargo - good character, despite the statement that he served three tours in Vietnam as a grunt. I know thousands of vets; a few, including my Dad, served two tours....those who served three are miniscule.

Are they the parts where the shitty cam copy with the awful fucking sound is obscure by the ads?

Do you actually enjoy watching movies this way?

Mine has four stars as wel, but that doesn't indicate number of tours, but the number of major campaigns in which your unit participated. I only did one tour - 68/69 - but the 101st was busy during that period.

Mystery Road: Origin a six part prequel of sorts to the 2 Mystery Road seasons shown on Australian TV.

    An aboriginal lead detective investigates.

As with the 2 previous series just a little slow but in keeping with its location - remote northern Western Australia.

    A good watch imo.

Ditto to the above suggestion, slower paced than your average cop show but more time to soak up that Outback scenery. But it’s actually in the Goldfields, not the North West

    ^ Yes, apologies re location.
Filming for the 2 Mystery Road series apparently took place in the north.

The 2 Mystery Road series are also well worth a watch.

I recently enjoyed Guilt S01 and S02 which was already recommended and I would recommend also.

I followed up with We Own This City, which is based on a true story about Police corruption in Baltimore. Very good imo.

Now I'm 1 episode into Severance, which is a bit, erm, weird. Maybe something you'd expect from Black Mirror. I like it.

    Lang may yer lum reek...

Been watching the two seasons of the Fargo series and enjoying it as much as we enjoyed Breaking Bad. The series plays off the movie Fargo and the episodes have plenty of surprises and of course, dark humor.

Yes, season 1 was filmed in and around Wyndham (what a god forsaken place that is ! )
Season 2 was shot in Broome, my sister was an extra in that.
There is also the original movie, (Mystery Road (2013) - IMDb ) available at TPB, plus a sequel to that called Goldstone. Been unable to find a download of that one.
Update : had another search and found Goldstone, must have had a typo or something before Goldstone.2016.720p.WEBRip.x264.AAC-ETRG (download torrent) - TPB

    I watched Pistol.

I loved/ love the pistols - and at the end of the day they didn't actually produce much - what they did was mind-blowing for me and my cohort of youth at the end of the world - Perth Aus. I remember being at my mates place smoking bongs (with his mum funnily enough) and one of his older brother's mates came around - he'd just returned form the UK and had a copy of Never Mind...He was raving and wacked it on the turntable and it blew us all away. We all taped it and would go to parties ad take off the fleetwood mac and neil young records and load up Never Mind the Bollocks... people either loved it or hated it. We also use to go to a locally run 'disco' every 2nd friday night - there was a migrant hostel nearby which was the first stop for a lot of the 10 pound poms - and they'd all show up at the disco in full skinhead or boot-boy get up and menace the dj to play pretty vacant 30 times!! Then they'd be gee'd up to punch a few surfie heads in (me and mates if we didn't run fast enough). But we'd all go off when the pistols came on.

So I was pretty keen to see Pistol. I wanted it to be good.

    Unfortuantely it was lame.

Wifi was down tonight at work so I binged Pan and Tommy.

I didn't really have high hopes for this nor had I watched a trailer, but it was quite bloody good.

    Silly, but fun.
