I thought it was only so so.

I couldn't quite put my finger on it as to why.
Then I listened to the Kermode & Mayo review of the series.
Kermode thought it enjoyable but somewhat cartoonish.
Cartoonish is probably the right adjective.
It didn't come across as 'real' to me, although the actors played the music 'live' on set and did not mime.

Probably worth a watch

I enjoyed the first episode so I've DL'd the rest.

Also 2 seasons of Guilt and a season of Billy the Kid.

Watched the first one, very good.

"Clark", a completely 'off the wall' Netflix 6 episode series about Sweden's most renowned and infamous real criminal. Filmed in a zany kind of way, but lots of humour and sex so can't be all bad. Features Bill Skarsgard as Clark Olofsson. Some versions are dubbed English but better in the original Swedish with English subtitles.

Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon hits out once more at Danny Boyle's TV drama Pistol.

Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon has made his opposition to Danny Boyle's TV drama Pistol very, very clear over the past months, and in a new interview with The Guardian, the artist formerly known as Johnny Rotten has once again taken the opportunity to criticise the show.


According to The Guardian, Lydon, who has arguably drawn more attention to Pistol than all the drama's advertising/promotion combined, is particularly incensed by the fact that the anti-establishment band's story is being told by Disney+(opens in new tab).


"It’s dead against everything we once stood for," Lydon rages. "The only thing you’ve got of value in your life, and you’re going to cheapen that because you want an extra fiver? Not much of a human being there."


By his own admission, Lydon has not watched Pistol beyond the series trailer, but that was enough to strengthen his opposition to the six-part show, which is based around Sex Pistols’ guitarist Steve Jones’ acclaimed 2018 memoir Lonely Boy.

"It’s karaoke, really," says Lydon. "The voices, the way they’re talking … it sounds like a bunch of kids from Tring, all discussing the latest calamities! That ain’t it at all! It’s so off."

Informed by interviewer Tim Jonze that director Danny Boyle told the newspaper that he was pleased that Lydon is attacking the show, the singer responds, "Oh, how fey of him!"


"It’s disgusting, really," he continues. "How can you be truthful when you don’t involve the main frontman who wrote those songs and had to take the hidings and kickings and public admonishments?"

I have just finished the first 2 episodes of 6 of the BBC drama Sherwood. Very good.
Inspired by a true story.
Great British TV cast led by David Morrissey

Two shocking and unexpected murders shatter an already fractured community leading to one of the largest manhunts in British history
while threatening to inflame historic divisions sparked during the Miners' Strike three decades before.

4 of 6 episodes down now. It is really very good. Shame I have to wait until next week to watch the final 2 episodes

It seems this has been aimed at 13 yo,poor story,some atrocious acting and the three main characters annoyed me so much I wanted them to die.

I knew this was rubbish after the 3rd episode but i ground it out till the end because I'm a glutton for punishment.

I have just watched Episode 1 of the first season of Dark Winds.
A armored car robbery in town and 2 murders on the Navajo reservation are investigated by the FBI and the tribal police in early 70s Arizona/New Mexico.
Robert Redford is an Executive Producer if that has any value.
I found it a good watch and will continue watching

I couldn't get into season 2 at all so I abandoned it.

Pistol was pretty good IMO.

Billy The Kid has been good too, maybe a little slow but it's shaping up for potential badassness.

2 left to go on season 1.
