Nature doc Animal on Netflix is decent. Although no Attenborough, I mean he has to die at some point I guess.

You folks got any favorite old black&white movies from the 40's and 50's? Two of mine are "Casablanca" and "From Here To Eternity". Thoughts?
anything bogart: Treasure of the Sierra Madre, African Queen (not black and white). I like Angels with Dirty Faces (Cagney), Night of the Hunter (Mitchum), captains Courageous (Tracy), 12 Angry men
or these

Anyone watching Rake?
About 9 out of my 10.
^
tried getting into this twice, i will give it another go
Yeah, I watched one episode years ago.
More than enough.
Won't give it another go.
Foundation - been sticking to it as it is visually compelling, but story wise you get the overwhelming feeling that they've bitten off far more than they can chew.
I just finished : The Chestnut Man.
A figurine made of chestnuts is found at the scene of a grisly murder; from this creepy clue, two detectives hunt for a killer linked to a politician's missing child.

I loved it... netflix ...Denmark dubbed.....
Here is the trailer.....
Invasion is turning out to be watchable sci-fi. Bump that up to an 8/10.
^^Reviews for that look very good.
Thanks.
Gonna give that a watch tonight. It sounds like something Jo Nesbø, the Norwegian writer, would be involved in.
In fact, I've just Googled and it and it says it was based on a Danish writer's novel, who was responsible for adapting one of Nesbø's books for the screen.
Yes, danish, great acting, story of the killer is very good... You want to watch this until the end.....I loved it....
Just remembered that I pinched the book off tpb a few weeks ago - I should probably read that first.
Rake! Surprised that turned up here. I loved it- but it helps that I was kinda part of that Sydney scene when I was a broker there in the late 80's. The decade of the long lunch.
The lead character is an amalgam of 2-3 legal personalities of the time, one of whom I knew well. And indeed, Sydney was quite a corrupt place. Wheels within wheels.
The first two series are great, then it gets into fantasia- a bit over the top. I would say the first two series are well worth a look, especially if you are partial to a bit of Australiana. It actually is not all that far from the truth, albeit obviously a bit caricatured.
