Yes. At a mall, quite full of people. Weird, isn't it . . . no masks. No social distancing.

Here the world is normal, has been normal. Completely normal, except we can't leave the country.


The only lockdown we've had was a few weeks last March/April. The only covid cases we have are in government managed quarantine.


It helps being at the arse-end of the world, no through flights - this is the end-station. Close two airports - tighter than a frog's arse.


(And a whole lot of luck especially at the beginning and with Russian sailors . . . government incompetence and lies aside)

I forgot to mention The Equalizer (TV, 2021) that premiered after the Superbowl.

Not only have they made Edward Woodward/Denzel Washington's character a woman, but that woman is..... Queen Latifah.

I mean if you haven't got anything else to watch it's alright, but don't be worrying too much about plausibility.

Halfway through Taboo S01, good watch, brilliant characters and period frills, surprisingly much of it is based on what history says happened; problem is, imdb says S02 was last year but can't find it anywhere. Oh and thanks to whoever it was that called it.

Not a movie as such but a look at life of trappers in Russia. Brilliant editing and story line. Well put together and well worth a watch.

For those fans of Skandi series, I strongly recommend this Danish offering, "Fred til lands" (Deliver Us). The first of what are eight episodes might seem slightly confusing, but that gets the characters into context.

Willy's Wonderland (2021)

You get the impression Nic Cage is going flat out to find his "Pulp Fiction", in terms of the movie that will resurrect his star like that did for John Travolta.

This one is a slasher movie with a shallow script - just as well, because he doesn't say a word in the whole movie - and it definitely isn't that.

But it's got a great soundtrack and if it bombs they can always blame it on the pandemic.

He plays "The Janitor", whose job it is to clean up a childrens arcade amidst some very unsociable animatronic characters.

Some mindless gore to while away the lockdown.

Thanks to whoever called Spiral, 8 seasons from 2005 following French police investigations from all povs, subs skip at times but excellent series, good watch, BBC, 9/10.
