I'm halfway through the first Swedish series of Torpederna (Triggerman). It's about an ex-con trying to go straight and no matter what he does he comes up with problems. I found the script well written and funny. It comes subtitled and easy to read. Not a violent series and unfortunately no nudity. Watching some classics now.

The new Papillon movie is pretty good but not as good as the original.

Also Lawrence of Arabia on YouTube HD is pretty good considering I've not viewed it for 20 years.

    Finished Das Boot 2018 S01.

Bout to get stuck into S02.

Very good, not amazing Top 5 stuff, but worth watching. Just skip through the non U-Boat scenes.

Actually gonna do a Looper and try to pick up a model.

As for being on a U-Boat being depth-charged, then slowly sinking to the seabed to die. Nah, fok that for a game of soldiers.

CBS are launching two movie spin offs in the coming weeks.

The Equalizer - where Denzel's character is played by a woman (Feb 7th)

Clarice - starts six months after Silence of the Lambs (Feb 11th)

The first one is obviously very silly. The second one probably will be, too.

They seem determined to pour money down the drain judging by what they did with the Star Trek franchise.

    Or sailors

Watched it a couple of times over the years and best part and most symbolic is the Allied Air attack at the end.

The punter that sold me my fleet of WWII aircraft carriers was selling a 1/175 U-Boat at the same time but we could not agree on a price so it slipped through the net

Shame as it was a nice example

Nice size. Took a look online and they were all 1/350 except one 1/200.

A bit of reading revealed there are only 4 u-boats still in existence.

U-505 seems to be the most famous. (Captured and towed to Bermuda. The previous captain had blown his brains out in front of the crew due to 'stress' after 30 hours of being hunted and depth-charged) now at a museum in Chicago.

Interesting machines for sure. Grey Wolves or Iron Coffins, depending on their side of the explosives.

    The Little Things (2021)

Denzel, that bloke who played Freddie Mercury in the biopic and Jared Leto in a moody serial killer pic.

Maybe I thought that, with three Oscar winners together, some kind of sparks would have flown, but instead it's a watchable 6.5/10 but not much more.

If you enjoy period dramas, you might try "Bridgerton", set in Regency era London. (2020) (IMDB 7.3) I'm only one episode in, but not too bad so far.

Correction: It's actually pretty awful. Sorry.
