Back to 'The Serpent' - there was a TV Mini series back in 1989 called 'Shadow of the Cobra' based on Nevillle's book. Shadow of the Cobra (TV Mini-Series 1989) - IMDb I did have it on VHS which I left with a chum of mine in Pattaya over 20 years ago. The mini series stared off in Sobrajh's early escapades in Greece. Any old hippies on here who remember the late Richard Neville and Oz magazine. ?

Very good series thus far. S1 was excellent. I have S2 all downloaded just haven't found time to watch it yet.

I haven't been able to find it as yet. Art Malik played Sobhraj in that one.

    Oh yeah, I remember that.

Art Malik was much better than the rather cardboard bloke in this current offering.

    Will give it a go.

It can't be worse than The Serpent, whose only worth-watching point is the Thailand connection.

A TV series called Sabrina on Netflix has been quite good family viewing. Like Buffy but witches.

^ It's not a follow on from Sabrina the Teenage Witch by any chance?

It's basically a slightly more adult version of it. Lives with her aunt's, has a cat called Salem etc.

I was recommended Equinox but I can't decide if I want to watch it in scandihooligan with English subtitles or dubbed.

    Fatale (2020)

A married man's Vegas one night stand with Hillary Swank's police detective leads to some potentially interesting twists but quickly descends into farce marred by a titanically rushed and contrived ending.

^Often wondered why you persist in posting up movies/series only to tell us they're absolute crap. If they suck, why post? Just wondering.....

    It's a recommendation thread.

I'm recommending you don't watch it.

I'm sorry you don't understand the meaning of the word recommendation. Perhaps I can spell it out for you.

    recommendation

    /ˌrɛkəmɛnˈdeɪʃ(ə)n/

    noun

    1. a suggestion or proposal as to the best course of action, especially one put forward by an authoritative body.
So if I score it low, I am suggesting that the best course of action is to give it a miss.

Do you understand now? Sorry, I wasn't aware that English wasn't your first language.

If it's not crappy enough to first sit through all those shit movies and tv shows, sat there during your breaks in that Indian call centre, when you could have just looked at their ratings on IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes, you then go out of your way to tell anyone who will listen how shit your viewing experience was, thus lengthening your shitty entertainment experience. And worse, sharing it with us.

Here's some words that mean the opposite of recommend...

    dissuasion discouragement
    disapproval caution
    deterrence censure
    criticism disincentive
    opposition condemnation
    determent deterrent
    warning disparagement
Fuck off with that shit Gupta
    expostulation remonstrance
    refusal disapprobation
    blame decrease
    deprecation reproach

The opposite of recommend would be to suggest or propose the worst course of action. Which in this instance would be for you to continue posting your worthless drivel.

    Coyote (2020, TV).

Michael Chiklis has had a spotty career since The Shield. In this he plays a retiring border patrol agent who sees the other side of the coin.
Gets into a right mess in the first of a short six episodes. Will do for a filler.

I watched the first episode yesterday and found it, as you say, will do for a filler. I fail to believe that a border guard of 30 odd years cannot speak Mexican/Spanish. I also found it hard not to keep seeing Chiklis in his role in 'The Shield'.

Had another go at the original Tinker Tailor which was a hit 40 years ago when the cupboard was bare, but this time found it hard work and gave up early.
