"Another Round", a recently released Danish offering starring Mads Mikkelsen. A group of teachers, feeling that their domestic and professional lives have become stale and mundane, set out to test the theory that humans should have been born with a small amount of alcohol in our blood, that modest inebriation opens our minds to the world around us, diminishing problems and increasing creativity. As this forum has a fair proportion of those who teach, as well many for whom the intake of alcohol is pleasurable, it has Teakdoor training material written all over it. Good subtitles.

If only the show itself wasn't interminably dull and pretentious.

    The editing is atrocious.

12 second Drag race - the onboard videos show empty road ahead, while the side videos that cut in and out of the race show show full crew and vans ahead of them.

Hammond has a Fury number plate in one of the off road shots. 5 minutes later Clarkson presents him with the Fury number plate.

Among others. And that's only from the first half I watched this afternoon.

Having a 'le Carré TV & Film' season.

BBC's 'A Perfect Spy' is very good. Unfolds slowly, like the novel, but worth waiting for. Also, it was made in 1987 so the picture quality is watchable, unlike the earlier 'Smiley's People' and 'Tinker Tailor...' unfortunately.

'Our Kind of Traitor' is not quite as good, as the plot is rather predictable. Bonus point if you can spot le Carré in a cameo role.

Probably better than both, and more fully realised, is 'The Night Manager', which was a clear attempt by both leading man and director to get a job with the Bond franchise. However the tension is maintained well and there's been some money spent on it.

In 'The Constant Gardener' Rachel Weisz and Ralph Fiennes do their best, but the storyline lacks focus imo.

Rewatching 'The Spy Who Came In From The Cold' today - Richard Burton is compelling in this.

I watched the first episode and decided to give the rest a miss - it seems designed for the PG audience

Hence why Hairy found it awesome. I watched about half of the first episode and gave up. Not for me.

The Man Who Wanted To Fly

The story of two brothers but the story focuses on the one who has an overwhelming wish to fly his own plane.
    A man needs a hobby

Apologies if it's been suggested before.

    Yeah, me too.

Lucas doing Yoda as a baby was always going to be a massive money spinner, so I can't really blame him.

As with 'Harry Potter' I have respect for the talents of those involved, but do kind of wonder about adults it appeals to.

Maybe the 'sweet spot' would be Yoda with obviously fake tits.

    I dunno.

Well the first movie was 19 years ago so I'm guessing people who read it as a kid.

(Where the fuck did that time go?).

^^I've been scouring the usual spots for that for months, but was really disappointed with the first one. Seemed a bit 'soap opera'.

I guess the later episodes must be better as it gets uniformly great reviews.

    I hope so.

The young fella was great in 'Top Boy'

    Have you seen that?

    Season 4?

Season three came out in 2016, and there hasn't been any news of a fourth season.
