One of Brian De Palma's best films. Excellent interview with him on the Here's The Thing podcast with Alec Baldwin. The final chase scene in Grand Central Station is unbelievable.

    The Seven Five

a documentary about corrupt NYC cops in mid to late 80s.

it's good, but kind of an old school production despite being made in 2014....couldn't help but think that it would have been more engaging in better hands.

    anyway, it's on youtube...

The Seven Five". Worth a watch. As Ray said, could have been better.....although I'm not sure how they could have improved it.

True Romance, watch it several times, never gets old, stellar performance all round esp by Brad Pitt the dopehead.

keeniow imdb gives it 7.9, more like 8.5

This is an interesting presentation by a guy who spent 20 years researching about 'The Lost Battalion' I ended watching the whole video, 7 Medal of Honors given just incredible. Thanks for the recommendation.

'The Righteous Gemstones' is very good. I'd give it an 8/10.

I enjoyed the last dance but it's a hagiography.

Jordan had the last say on what goes in and what's excluded, and he even gets the chance to see interviews with others and reject their perspective.

More directorial independence would have been good, but as 10 hours of adulation goes it's a very high quality production.

there's a new 30 for 30 on lance armstrong out there somewhere...but can't seem to find it.

from what i've read, he's somehow managed to make himself even more unlikable.

"The Emergency Code for a plane hijacking is 7500: a tense, intense thriller, told from the cockpit. A flight from Berlin to Paris. Everyday routine in the cockpit of an Airbus A319. Co-pilot Tobias Ellis is preparing the plane for take-off, which then follows without incident. Then we hear shouting in the passenger cabin. A group of young men try and storm the cockpit, among them 18-year old Vedat. A fight begins between crew and attackers, with the desire on the one hand to save individual lives and on the other to avert an even bigger catastrophe. The cockpit door becomes a battleground - and Tobias ends up being the arbiter over life and death."

This is a stunning cinema, and apparently long in the making.

It's a narration of an influential 1930's science fiction novel, set against an epic score and stunning visuals (Who has heard of the Spomeniks?)

So no action, no actors, just a fantastic piece of cinematic art.

Seeking download of Le Bureau des Légendes Season 5. French Version. Found a few but they've all got Russian overdubbed - and can still hear the French lingo. (Got English Subs OK).
