"Inspired by true events, the story begins with Japanese rugby officials dwelling on a humiliating anniversary, a 145-17 defeat by the New Zealand All Blacks in the 1995 World Cup. Officials question their decision to appoint Eddie Jones, to coach their national team for the 2015 World Cup. Jones plans to defy convention in order to put a stop to Japan being the laughing stock of world rugby."

Leadership, at it's best.
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
^ I'm looking forward to the sequel: The Yokohama Miracle.
(Coming to a cinema near you from 4pm this Saturday.)
While waiting for the third and final part of the BBC Edwardian-set "The War of the Worlds", I noticed there is a present day-set 8 parter called "War of the Worlds" with Gabriel Byrne; the last of the eight appeared this morning, although I found part 8 of 8 on 1337x.to and 1-7/8 on TPB.
Added: It's a Canal/Fox co-production and about 10% of it is in French. Each episode has an English and French audio track but only French subtitles.
Not too difficult to get the gist though.
It's very new.
Look for "War of the Worlds 2019" as opposed to "THE War of the Worlds 2019", which is the BBC three parter.
War of the Worlds will consist of eight episodes. The series will first be released in most parts of Europe and Africa between October 30 and December 18, 2019.
Canal+ and Fox Networks Group have the rights to release the series in Europe and Africa. AGC Television will distribute the series to the North American market, and co-distribute with StudioCanal to Latin America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Fox Networks Group will release the series in Europe. The series will broadcast on Fox in more than 50 countries.

The White Storm 2: Drug Lords

"There is an iron rule in the Ching Hing Gang: No drug dealing. The gang leader, Yu Nam (by Kent Cheng), has two right-hand men: one is Tin (by Andy lau), a bright and sober adherent of principles and loyalty; the other is Jizo (by Louis Koo), a cold-blooded smart man who secretly runs a drug business without Nam's knowledge.
Ordered by the top leader, Tin taught Jizo a lesson by cutting off one of his fingers and expelled him from the gang. On the same night, policeman Fung (by Michael Miu)'s wife was killed in Jizo's nightclub during an operation.
Meanwhile, Tin swore to change sides after his beloved girlfriend walked out of his life. 15 years later, the local drug market is now quadripartite.
Jizo becomes the biggest drug dealer in Hong Kong; while Tin has now established himself as a financial tycoon and a philanthropist, and is offering a $100 million bounty to eliminate the No.1 drug dealer in Hong Kong.
It causes a stir in both the society and the underworld. Inevitably, a battle between the two tycoons is underway."

Chinese language with English subs.
Hong Kong, Triads, corruption, double double crosses, battered cars, bullets, HK society and plenty of "action".
Fun in the Orient, I'll stick to Thai village life.
I couldn't find this with subtitles but watched it anyway and I thought it absolutely brilliant. Story was good and the acting was superb.

The new Jack Ryan drops on Amazon Prime on Friday.
Redoing 'The night of'.
What a fantastic show.
It's hanging for a 2nd season really.
If anyone has been through S02 of the Deuce, is it worth a watch?
I like the characters, so S01 was ok but repetitive and going nowhere.
I felt the same.
Enjoyed S01 but somehow it was enough.
Netflix November arrivals. The standout is The Irishman (27/11)

Didn't figure it would make it that far...Originally Posted by harrybarracuda

BBC's The Planets 2019.
(don't watch that in the auto 240p, btw. )
A brilliant follow up to The Planets series the BBC did around 15 years ago.
Brian Cox has thankfully toned down his annoyingly chirpie, and superlative ridden narration.

Great show to sit back and be impressed with.
So it looks like Jack Ryan S02 is out now and isn't geolocked.
I may not make the pub this evening....
Added: In UHD too.
Popcorn in the microwave.

Thanks Hairy,
^ The link works perfectly for me. Opens up the page for that torrent.
Get off Win XP and try it on a proper operating system.
Just finished watching the "Banshee" series. Someone on here (Failsafe?) recommended it a while ago. Plot is a bit thin, but the copious amounts of gratuitous sex and violence papers over the cracks very nicely.. Some staggering levels of claret and skin in this series. (Finished at SE04).
That has Anthony Starr, err, starring.Originally Posted by kmart

Yeah, I did recommend it- definitely not 'high-brow', but a fun show. It went off the rails a bit in S4, but remained watchable throughout. If you haven't watched 'Kingdom' (about a California family involved in MMA), you'll probably like that as well- it's at a similar level.
There are likely better links than this...

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
