    Yesterday's Children (2000)

Jenny Cole lives with her husband and son in middle America. She is pregnant and starts to have very vivid dreams about a small city that has a big church. She then starts talking to her mother about it and her mother shows her some drawings she made when she was a child. To her amazement they are identical to the drawings from her dreams that she is now having. Jenny and her mother do research and find that the dreams are about a small town called malahide in Ireland in the 1930s. The mother gives Jenny, her son and her husband tickets to go to Ireland, so that she can find out about her dreams. Had Jenny lived in the past after all as Mary Sutton?

I rarely watch comedies, but last night I watched "American Pie". There are scenes that are really quite funny. There are a bunch of sequels, all poor, but the first one is good. 7.5/10.

Regarding Andre the Giant: (André René Roussimoff)

Roussimoff has been unofficially crowned "the greatest drunk on Earth" for once consuming 119 12-US-fluid-ounce (350 ml) beers (over 41 litres) in six hours.

On an episode of WWE's Legends of Wrestling, Mike Graham said Roussimoff once drank 156 16-US-fluid-ounce (470 ml) beers (over 73 litres) in one sitting, which was confirmed by Dusty Rhodes.

The Fabulous Moolah wrote in her autobiography that Roussimoff drank 127 beers in a Reading, Pennsylvania, hotel bar and later passed out in the lobby. The staff could not move him and had to leave him there until he awoke.

A tale recounted by Cary Elwes in his book about the making of The Princess Bride has Roussimoff falling on top of somebody while drunk, after which the NYPD sent an undercover officer to follow Roussimoff around whenever he went out drinking in their city to make sure he did not fall on anyone again.

An urban legend exists surrounding Roussimoff's 1987 surgery in which his size made it impossible for the anesthesiologist to estimate a dosage via standard methods; consequently, his alcohol tolerance was used as a guideline instead.

Yeah, was around 17 or so when that came out. Another good comedy of the time was Something about Mary.

After watching the plain annoying 'Collateral' I was wondering why Brits don't seem able to make anything comparable to the Scandi-Noirs.

Halfway through Season 3 of 'Shetland' and it seems pretty decent. Season 4 is showing now in the UK, and both seasons are on eztv.

Badly in need of subtitles in English. Nice scenery though.

I will give it a try. Grew up hearing broad scottish accents daily so subtitles might not be necessary for me?

Reckon you'll be fine. I could make it out, but it was too much effort.

"36th Precinct" (2004) French with English subtitles. Parisian detectives go after an underworld gang wanted for a string of violent robberies. Pretty good. I'll go with IMDB's 7.2.

    Couple of new TV series:

Instinct - Alan Cummings plays some gay (yes, had to happen eventually) professor who fights crime with the female detective.

I have nothing against a gay character, but it looks like it's there to attract the gay audience. I don't think it will, the thing is shite.

    2/10

Deception - Remember those movies that were all about magicians being chased by the FBI and shit? Now You See Me, that was it. Well it's like them only even shitter.

    Also 2/10.

    Spare yourselves.

    Get fooked.

Zig & Zag are solid 1st.

    Brilliant show.

Joint first with The Wire, BOB, and Gomorrah for me.

Didn't find a torrent recently for the last season, so watched it on here:

BBC TV Series ('72-'74) "Colditz". Two seasons of 13 one-hour episodes each. Good stuff if you're a fan of WW2 POW stuff. Not to be confused with the movie "The Colditz Story". I just started season 1 but thus far it looks grimmer and more realistic than the movie. No grade from me yet, but IMDB gave it an 8.5. Also not to be confused with the 2005 mini-series of the same name.
