I thought it was a bit average too. Nothing that wrong with it, but it wasn't a patch on a series like The Wire.

Thanks Harry. I just finished watching. Overall I wasn't impressed with the 2 hour version and I'm sure I wouldn't have stuck the full series. I even fast forwarded parts of the movie.

LMAO, The Wire. Yeah The Wire is a great show. Got it. I think we've all got it.This collective drive to claim it as the end all be all...its kind of a played out a bit though. Some groupthink happening, the idea bounces around, self validating and feeding off of others. Its just not original.

Season 5 of the Wire was pretty lackluster. And it was a cop show, albeit a great cop show that showed the other half of the story. But still a cop show. No way am I calling a cop show the high point of television history.

What they have in common is that there are really great performances in both shows. The Wire had a greater ensemble cast, no doubt about that. No show would leave you on the edge of your seat like Breaking Bad though. That show did tension better than any other. And the way that show was filmed, the musical interludes, really good.

Both were classic shows occupying entirely different spaces. Can they be compared? Of course not, they aren't even remotely similar. But to claim that one is inarguably better than the other? Pass

Just binge watching this series and it's really really good. One of the very best crime series in a long time, and it does not rely on high speed chases and people yelling Mothefuker in every sentence. Bitlliantly shot, edited and presented. Real quality stuff.

It can be found on PB but you might have to search around a bit to get all the pieces. Well worth the effort.

Why?? I manage to find pretty well everything of interest on the big torrent sites, and the downloads are usually very fast. Have never bothered with Netflix.

I have a VPN provider with servers in 35+ countries to access anything that's been tampered with in LOS......

Cause you discover a lot of stuff on there with the VPN and different regions.

Plus the resolution and sound is real 1080p HD or more if Ultra HD capable.

Its a hell of a difference. I torrent as well but Netflix Quality on a good TV is great

I have netflix. I don't ever really use it though. So much great TV, downloading just gives me the ability to watch only what I want. I'm so far behind on great series, I just don't need to randomly flip through a bunch of things to find more.

With x265 files becoming the new standard, the quality difference and needed storage is becoming less of a concern too. I actually purchased a brand new 4k TV primarily because my old one wouldn't play x265 straight from an external HDD.

I actually purchased a brand new 4k TV primarily because my old one wouldn't play x265 straight from an external HDD.

If you are in the states and have and have Netflix there is no x265 that will beat the HD Quality available. Do a crosscheck with it. There is also the Ultra HD upgrade available on Netflix for like a buck or 2 more a month. Its mind blowing.
