The Ballad of Wallis Island (Movie, 2025).
I wouldn't normally watch something just because Richard Osman raves about it, but pickings are dire at the moment, so gave it a try.
Great, quirky British movie about an eccentric lottery winner who invites his favourite musician to do a gig on his private island.
There are a few buts...
Brilliant writing and acting makes it a cheerful watch.
8/10.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
Echo Valley (Movie, 2025) - decent Julianne Moore thriller.
Deep Cover (Movie, 2025) - starting that now.
Two good series coming July 17th: Untamed (Eric Bana) and Star Trek SNW Season 3.
Worth a watch if you've not already watched.
The Rabbit Hole.
Rabbit Hole (TV Series 2023) - IMDb
Final Destination Bloodlines was pretty good for a horror flick, I thought.
Just noticed the sequel to 28 Days Later is out. Now 28 Years Later. Will try and find that one.
The Waterfront (Netflix, TV).
Being compared to Ozark.
Just about to give it a go, all 8/8 are up.
The Waterfront wasn’t as good as Ozark but still very watchable.
Land of Bad (Movie, 2024)
Special forces caper with Russell Crowe.
Didn't do well at the box office but seems to be doing ok streaming.
Countdown (TV, 2025).
A ragtag bunch of misfits form a federal task force to investigate the murder of a colleague.
Definitely in the category of light entertainment, cliches and cheese abound.
3/13 up and then one a week.
Smoke (TV, 2025)
9-part crime drama about an arson investigator (Taron Egerton).
Pretty good.
2/9 up, then drip feed.
Heads of State (Movie, 2025).
Action romp with Idris Elba, John Cena and some famous Indian bint to give it Amazon Prime global appeal. Lightweight but watchable.
Sharp Corner (Movie, 2025)
A man and his wife and kid move into a house on a corner and there's a car accident. After another one, he starts to lose his marbles. The lead actor carries it.
The Old Guard 2 (Movie, 2025)
Haven't seen it yet but the original was pretty good so I'll give it a go.
Ballerina (Movie, 2025)
John Wick spinoff that I haven't got around to yet.
If you want some real comedy gold, Liam Neeson has got his zimmer frame out again for Ice Road: Vengeance (Movie, 2025).
It's so fucking ridiculous it's hilarious.

So this week I've seen both F1 and the new Jurassic Park and I can strongly recommend that you go and watch them at the flicker pictures rather than wait for download.
Both excellent romps on the big screen.
the city is ours
wtf is wrong with a decent gangster series when they go all ghey
this is some homage to a red headed pasty white woman with a plump arse
don't waste your time like I did
