    September 5 (Movie, 2025)

Story of the ABC Sports News crew that had to pivot to covering the hostage crisis.

Better than I thought it would be. 7/10

They are obviously leaving the door ajar with the finale.
The portrayal of the the uproarious huge in every sense Paddy Mayne suggests he was some rural bumpkin, he was actually a solicitor and a fine No 8 /lock rugger player for Ireland and I believe the Lions pre war .In total keeping with the portrayal he crashed and died returning from a session at the Lodge!

    Paradise (TV, 2025)

American political thriller. Just about to hit Ep 1.

Three up already, then five on drip feed.

Added: The first episode is a belter.

    9/10

Wouldn't quite say that episode 1 was a belter, but I enjoyed it enough to want to watch the rest, but I might wait for all episodes to drop.
I don't enjoy this one episode per week malarkey anymore

I have just watched the first 3 episodes of a 6 part series on Apple - Vietnam: The War That Changed America.

A little different than the usual in that it tells its story each episode focusing on a particular event/theme using TV coverage and home movies of the time,
interspaced with interviews today of some of the individuals featured in the visuals.

Well worth watching in my opinion. So far the only downside for me is the narrator who is Ethan Hawke, who I think is a d***

^^ It’s funny how we dislike actors sometimes. Ethan Hawkes doesn’t bother me a bit. I like him.

However, besides The Night Agent actor, Gabriel Basso, I can’t stand Woody Harrelson or Rami Malek. Why? I’ve no idea.

No, I didn't. That was good, but I just didn't think that the episode as a whole was a 'belter'. Who knows why? Acting? Writing?
I will watch upcoming episodes but perhaps I will wait until the whole series is available.

I watched episode 3 of Prime Target the other day and almost had to rewatch the first 2 episodes to understand what was going on.

How did we 'manage' in days of yore when all series were one episode per week?

    Yes, fully agreed

It might have been a couple of years ago but Ethan Hawke was writing or producing something or other, I can't remember what (Google is your friend - ' The Last Movie Stars'). very time the camera panned to him I wanted to shout 'get a shower'
He always looked as if he had just got out of bed and that coupled with the fact he seemed so full of himself just turned me right off him.

In general I would be hard pushed to name any actors or actresses in most movies/shows etc. I couldn't have come up with the name Gabriel Basso if you gave me a million chances, Woody Harrelson will always be Cheers for me, and Rami Malek I have heard of but would be hard pressed to name a movie he has starred in - didn't he play Freddie Mercury in something or other.

I wouldn't put too much faith in my opinions of actors/actresses

Funnily enough I started watching Ep3 and stopped for the same reason.

American Primeval on Netflix is a decent watch so far.

Red Indians, Mormons, settlers, bounty hunters and baked bean eaters all intertwined in a story of violence and survival.

Two TV shows drop on Feb 20th:

Reacher season 3 (Three episodes, then drip feed)

Zero Day, a "cyberthriller" with De Niro (all 6 by the looks).

I use NordVPN and it doesn't slow anything down or feel like I have a VPN running, except everything works.

First time deal was 3,000 thb for 3 years up to 6 devices.

Renewal only offered 2 years for the same price.

Now I get it free through my Revolut bank account.

I cannot comment on the others.

Nice of Revolut to pay NordVPN with their own money so that you don't have to pay it!

The wonders of Revolut deserves it's own thread, I'll get round to it later.

As for TV, I've started watching The Rig.

Quite hard to get into on the first episode, since I actually work offshore and actually have a real Scottish accent.

Will give it a chance though.

I use Nord but be careful buying it; they give you a great deal, but when it comes to renewal they automatically renew it at a horrible price.

Make sure you cancel autorenew as soon as you've bought it.

Bank of Dave 2 on Netflix !

Best heartwarming movie I've watched in a while!

US and UK at its best.

Don't worry Kitty the accents aren't as raw as Brassic.

    10/10

Seen "Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger" on Netflix yet?

The Gorge (Apple TV Movie, 2025)

Silly but entertaining, er, scifi action romance for want of a better description.

    It works.

Since it has a bit of buzz about it for obvious reasons, I thought I'd start The White Lotus.

    Quite enjoyable 7/10

Also a reminder that three episodes of Reacher S03 and all six of Zero Day drop sometime today.
