No Sid James or Kenneth Williams, this is Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman.

TSA officer gets phone call at work telling him to let a bag through through the scanner or his wife will be killed.

Lots of terribly unrealistic but exciting japes ensue.

Not a bad action flick though.

I post this only for its accidental keystone kops-style comedy.

Clint may be able to direct a movie from his zimmer frame, but sadly Martin Campbell's powers have waned.

I have just finished The Madness an 8 part series on Netflix
A conspiracy thriller which starts with black TV pundit being framed for the murder of a white supremacist.
Many twists and turns ensue.
Above average. Somewhat farfetched. Decent pace. It held my interest.

I watched the madness and thought it was good - though he seems to have an aversion to shaving the beard off which would have been my first thought if I trying to disguise myself

black doves was total twaddle , I had to stop about halfway through the second episode - maybe ok for blokes who think the woman is hot , but it was nowhere near slow horses

tried douglas is cancelled , but it was not something I found interesting

Well Beast Games (Netflix, TV) is obviously ripped off Squid Games (sadly there are no killings).

Unbelievably American.

Massive sets (that cost $15m apparently), 1000 contestants, a $5m dollar prize (and they give away $1 million right at the start).

The scale of the thing is absolutely fucking mental.

I'm sure if it's a success they could progress to "Beast Games: This time they're packing".

Landman (TV, 2024)

Another Taylor Sheridan effort, and if this wasn't written for Billy Bob Thornton I don't see how they could have cast anyone else.

Set in the oil fields of Texas.

Top notch 9/10 to finish the year (seven up already with two to go).

I have just watched the first 2 episodes of 'The Agency', which airs on Paramount + I believe . So far not great - too slow.
Apparently it is based on the French TV series 'The Bureau' or 'Le Bureau des Legendes' which I di watch a few years ago and enjoyed.

This new version has George Clooney as an Exec Producer and Richard Gere as head of London station.

I will watch the next couple of episodes but it will have to improve for me to make through al 10 of the first season.

If spys, espionage and geopolitical intrigue are your thing then 'The Buraeau' \ 'Le Bureau des Legendes' is a much better option in my opinion

Well somehow I have made it through 5 episodes.
I'm someone who likes to finish something I started whether book, movie, album or series but The Agency is testing my resolve.

If you haven't started watching this series yet, my recommendation would be "Dont!"

A question for all the computer experts....anybody have an idea why my qBittorrent client has stopped working ? No matter how many seeds or peers are stated on the website (piratebay or torrenting.com) qBittorrent says there are zero seeds or peers, so nobody to connect to and download. For instance the highlighted download had 14 seeds according to torrenting dot com, others at pirate bay had 12 and 13 but still zero for me. I've since downloaded the BitTorrent client and that works perfectly, so it's not my Norton software or True internet blocking torrents. I do prefer the qBittorrent software so I would like to get that working again. I have un-installed it and reinstalled latest version, with no difference, still don't work.

Now why couldn't I find anything like that on Google, would have saved me hours. I had already read about changing the port, didn't work. Went back to v4.6.4 (as I found I still had the install exe file in my download folder) which works perfectly. Thanks a lot.

And "The Rig" has it's second season up too, first one was worth watching. And no, it's not the home videos of a nomadic Teakdoor member, it's a bit sci-fi about mysterious happenings on a North Sea oil rig.

Dexter: Original Sin I highly recommend as it is a prequel to the other Dexter series. It just came out at the end of Dec 2024. I watch it on amazon prime, also on Paramount plus.. It starts when Dexter is in university going through for a surgeon. He becomes an intern in Forensics about the time he starts his murders.
The series has some well known actors like Patrick Dempsey as the police captain and Christian Slater as Dexter's father. Check it out if you are a Dexter fan. Two thumbs up.
