I have just watched the first 2 episodes of 'The Agency', which airs on Paramount + I believe . So far not great - too slow.
Apparently it is based on the French TV series 'The Bureau' or 'Le Bureau des Legendes' which I di watch a few years ago and enjoyed.
This new version has George Clooney as an Exec Producer and Richard Gere as head of London station.
I will watch the next couple of episodes but it will have to improve for me to make through al 10 of the first season.
If spys, espionage and geopolitical intrigue are your thing then 'The Buraeau' \ 'Le Bureau des Legendes' is a much better option in my opinion
Juror #2
Clint Eastwood still churning out movies from his zimmer frame.
And this still hits the spot.
Legal thriller with a decent cast and story.
^ You had a perfect opportunity to add that the film "made your day".
I'm gonna settle down and watch it after a cup of tea.
Black Doves (Netflix, TV, 2024)
Spy thriller.
First episode is a solid 8/10.
Have finished Black Doves because all episodes are up.
Obviously Netflix wanted their own Slow Horses and, while not quite to that level, it's still a pretty decent yarn with moments of humour.
Might upset the homophobes though.
8/10 for the whole thing.
Story wrapped up but with an out for a second season.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
^ What a fanny of a production!
Made it half way through episode one and switched over to something more hard hitting and a true story with class actor Stephen Graham.

For the doing a lot of heavy lifting there
Can you put that through Google Whatthefuckdoesthatmean?
Elevation (movie, 2024)
Earth taken over by aliens and mankind is doomed except for her out of Homeland and him with the wings from the Avengers.
An amusing romp.
6.5/10
Earth Abides (TV, 2024)
A slightly more thoughtful take on the post apocalyptic nightmare.
It's not full of thrills, zombies or aliens, so if you're after that it's not going to be your bag.
I'm enjoying it.
Tomorrow and I, or Anakhot if you prefer the original Thai title.
Thai?...fear not, there are subtitles!
Probably not for everybody, but Thai culture meets sci-fi in 4 episodes that are completely different to the usual soaps and sing-a-song shows, Thais can make decent tv after all, with a bit of help from Netflix.
no prostitution in Thailand?....let's invent some sex robots!
Buddhism gets updated by AI.
Actually I'm a bit surprised the usual netizen guardians of Thai culture haven't been making their usual noises of protest, maybe they don't have Netflix.
