I watched the first episode of 'The Sympathizer' yesterday.

It's about a Viet Cong spy embedded with the collaborators at the time Saigon fell.

    Very promising, imo.

    Something different.

    Red Eye (TV, 2024)

Matthew is a doctor in Beijing. Matthew gets in a bit of bother and scarpers back to London. But the chinky bastards reckon Matthew killed a woman, so he's stuck straight back on a plane back to Chinkystan.

Is Matthew a killer? Who is out to get him? Is it British spooks or Chinky bastards?

    All will be revealed...

    First episode is promising.

Just finished watching an oldie 'Spooks' series. Dunno why I didn't watch it all those years back but any one else that didn't see it 'should'. Brilliant story lines and excellently acted.

I'd never thought of it, but you're right.

He's a very popular actor in the UK...Toby Jones.

Probably best known for the TV series 'The Detectorists' , which is a light comedy of the kind some of us may be in need of these days.

He was also very good as a Russian in 'Tetris', so a versatile actor.

Joe - the way you just c+p stuff and pass it off as your own is irritating af.

Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Marvel movies, and a notable turn in The Mist.

    He's done well for himself.

That was my own review knobjockey.

He was very good in the Alan Bates the Post Office scandal.

I swear he was the security dwarf in the Human centipede as well, one of your top ten films no doubt

Did you experience the fear growing up in the Ripper years?
The whole north of England was terrified!
There was one TV channel which was very active in the coverage of Britain's worst serial killer.

I had a work colleague interviewed several times during the investigation. He took it well enough but nearly broke his marriage.

So you've self appointed yourself head of content as well as grammar.

    The Father (2020)

Anthony Hopkin as the father and Olivia Coleman as his daughter Anne. A very touching movie about a fathers aging and denial of his increasing dementia.

I’m watching a German series, Dark, which I thought would be a thriller. Turns out it’s a bit of sci fi/supernatural thing too. What a convoluted tale. A good story and I can’t stop watching it going into the second season. If you’ve the time and attention to spare, it’s worthwhile.

    Humane (Movie, 2024)

David Cronenberg's daughter directs this horror/fantasy about a father that invites his kids to dinner and it turns out one of them has to die. But how do they choose?

She's got the same entertainingly sick sense of humour as her dad.
