I don't think it's any better than the first two, and that isn't to say the first two weren't top notch.

Yeah, I like Slow Horses too, but they are all similar - it's made good by the main character, without him it'd not be particularly watchable, imho.

That Monsters thing earlier on the page is ok too.

& Boat Story was a good watch.

I'm also watching A Murder at the End of the World which seems ok too. A tad trite, very iApple, similar to that Norton film a while back...

Finally, "Killers of the Flower Moon" out as real rather than .ts copies. Not a recommendation as such as haven't yet watched it, but strong reviews. Set in the 1920's, systematic genecide of a native Indian tribe uncovered in the pursuance of an oilfield development on their land. Stellar cast, including DiCaprio and DeNiro.

    Trailer:

A couple of what will probably be many download options:

Three and a half more hours of a Scorsese vanity project aimed at getting him an Oscar.

    I don't have the willpower.

Yeah, I just watch this stuff in 30 minute episodes these days.

    It's S01E04 of Oppenheimer tonight.

I am in the process of mining back catalogues missed over the years for whatever reason.

I binge watched last month Better Call Saul and thought it fine drama indeed.

And so it was inevitable I finally caught up with Breaking Bad, all five seasons worth.

Truly excellent but the scenes with the palsied son were a misstep I think and a drag.

    Otherwise, great American stuff.

I want to move to New Mexico.

Bit of a spoiler, but it ends in a bang.

A lot of people don't know about what happened to Jesse, the extra movie gives some closure..

I've recently downloaded a few series that whilst previously watched, merit a second or even third viewing. Latest were "The Wire", and also "Boardwalk Empire", both of which unleashed new talent that have gone onto greater things.

The thing with Netflix et al is that the serial format provides for a greater exposition of character and motivation within a slowly evolving plot requiring a narrative that can change pace according to the overall structure of the drama.

In film the script and direction has to be economical and focused if it is to succeed in capturing the attention of the viewer, and there has to be some coherence to the narrative that engages and satisfies-putting it simply there has to be a beginning, a middle and an end, and all encompassed in 2 hours or so.

Gilligan made El Camino in pretty much the same way if it had formed an episode in the Breaking Bad saga.

As cinema it didn’t work very well.

WWII: From the Frontlines combines stunning new footage – much of it unseen until now – with extraordinary stories from the frontlines of WWII. Colourised and restored using the latest cutting-edge techniques, and brought to life with cinematic sound design, this immersive series takes the viewer inside the biggest conflict in history.

Leave The World Behind (Netflix, Movie).

Very good thriller with Mahershala Ali, Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke.

    8/10

    What is a "flic/series"? A flick or a series?

    And where's the link?
