The Medium on Netflix is pretty good, good filming and story. Definitely worth a watch if only for the excellent cinematography.

Zoë Kravitz unintentionally becomes a high-tech sleuth. Pretty good

So I went to the pics to watch Moonfall. The usual expansive Roland Emmerich CGI.
But what really made the movie was the script. It's like they took the treatment and threw it at a few hundred people and said "write the corniest lines you can" and then cut them up, glued them into scenes and shot from that.
So hilariously atrocious it edged it to a 6/10. I don't know how the leads kept straight faces.
For a more sombre view, "Ted K", a sort of biopic about Ted Kaczynski (Unabomber) made from his written ramblings, starring that jaapie that was in District 9.
Actually not bad, I'll give it a 7.
Not a bad watch if you've watched the previous films, on Netflix..

Ozark S04 has been good.
Well worth catching up with if you haven't been watching.
Just skip S02.
For those waiting to binge, the final episode of "1883" will be up Monday (Asia). It's an excellent series; reminds me in some ways of "Lonesome Dove"". Close to an 8.
Gonna start on 1983 this evening, too many recommendations.
cheers.
^Might want to start 100 years earlier.....
I'll go fire up the Tardis.
I didn't realise it's a prequel to Yellowstone.
For scifi buffs....

The daughter stole the show imo. I Think I only saw the first 2 seasons but I'll get back into it.
I watched 1883 ep1 last night in bed, then went on to have mental dreams about the Wild West all night, partner.
If it's not, why call the family The Duttons?
Same creators too, so I'd say it's a safe bet.
Academy Awards this weekend. A list of movies nominated for Best Picture is out already. It's an excellent opportunity to take note of the nominees, so that you know what movies NEVER to watch.
Is "Yellowstone" worth a watch? I only got half way through the first episode. I think Kostner is a lousy actor, but will give it another shot if your reviews are glowing.
I think anything's worth more than half an episode. Watch an extended trailer for a better idea. I plan to continue where I left off, so I would recommend it.
Can recommend Liquorice Pizza - Seymour Hoffman's boy shows the fruit seldom falls far from the tree and Alana Haim's debut is stunning.
Also enjoyed The Last Duel, and The House of Gucci.
And if you want classy comic acting then Toast in Tinseltown hits the spot. You can catch up on earlier Toast of London seasons on YT.
As an antidote to all those fucking puerile CGI Marvel shite films, that list restores the faith in Hollywood.
Hightown has been pretty good
"The Last Duel", recently recommended, sucked. About a 4.5. First episode of "Hightown" ^ was ok so moving on with it for a bit.
"From" (TV, 2022)
A couple get "caught" - for want of a better word - in a town with a scary secret that involves everyone having to lock themselves inside and hide at night.
Entertaining enough premise and they haven't screwed it up yet. Three episodes of 10 are out already.
6.5/10
What did you lot think of 'Power of the Dog'?
I loved Jane Campion's 'The Piano'.
Was completely bored by potd.
Tipped to win a boatload of Oscars.
So that fits dk's hypothesis.
