I enjoyed this, great to see Tim Blake Nelson get a movie he can carry. Surprised to finally see a role that suited an older Stephen Dorff

Another world War 1 movie that was bloody good
The War below, they recruited miners from the north of England to dig tunnels under the Germans.

Just noticed this movie when looking for the trailer to share, these are Australians but yes, it sure does look the same...... I'd watch both of them if they're good movies about WW1, gritty stuff.

    Thanks, Vocal Neal

Maybe it's because I don't have surround sound but there were a fair few lines mumbled which I didn't catch. But it was worth the time.

Speaking of war stuff, this is out on Netflix this Friday.

Hopefully the acting is less wooden than the aeronautical props.

"Old Henry" surprised me by being quite a good movie.

    Copshop (2021)

An excellent, almost Tarantino-esque, blood-spattered crime romp.

    8/10.

    Invasion (Apple TV, 2021)

A new Scifi series with Sam Neill getting top billing.

Episode 1 is a seemingly disconnected potpourri of character development that you know is supposed to be building up to something but doesn't really grab you until there are a couple fuck off whammys that intrigue me enough to watch Episode 2.

    7/10 so far.

Once Upon a Time in London (2019).

East End gangster flick set during WWII.

Most of the cast from British gangster flicks are there. Lots of violence. Not bad not great. The last few minutes were good as the new guys were introduced.

I’ve been watching ‘Temple’, S01 with Mark Strong as an ‘off the rails’ surgeon willing to do just about anything to save his wife’s life.

    S02E01 is screening now.

It’s well worth catching up with.

    Titane (2021, film)

Highly rated French body horror to which I even think David Lynch would go "Fuck me, that's a bit weird".

I started watching it thinking it was going to be a serial killer flick and it just ... well... hard to describe.

The male lead was the husband trying to spring his missus in "Pour Elle".

Hovering around 6.5/10. You want to know what happens but it's painful.
