The Ice Road (Amazon Prime, Movie)

Liam Neeson dragged out for another action flick.

This one has more cheese than a lorryload of cheetos, it's got more ham than the Tesco Deli, and I think someone recycled the script from CliffHanger.

I don't think Amazon paid $200m for this one somehow.

I sort of enjoyed it, as I'm sure you will if you take it for what it is: an unabashed popcorn movie.

For some reason this has popped up now, and since I normally like Willem Dafoe's work, I thought I'd have a look.

Willem is playing a slot machine with his mate in the bar he runs.
Suddenly Willem is being attacked by a bear
Suddenly Willem is serving behind his bar with an old lady and some bird.
Suddenly the old lady tells the bird to get her tits out, so she does.
Suddenly Willem is on a cliff. He falls off.
Suddenly Willem is next to a pool talking arty farty bollocks with himself.

I sort of gave up at that point.

A Quiet Place Part II is a worthy sequel to the first. Which is probably redundant.

Weak story and dialogue
This movie starts out okay, but it really falls apart in the second half.

Characters are introduced in very clumsy ways throughout, and the story is very cliched. There are major pacing issues and there is very little time taken to build suspense or impart a proper sense of stakes to the film.

A lot of the main actors in this movie seem like they don't really want to be there and were just going through the motions. Ray Liotta and Don Cheadle especially seemed bored, and I can't blame them.
