Not seen it yet but I haven't been hearing many good things which is a shame because I loved Unbreakable and Split so was hoping it would be a strong end to the trilogy.

Anyone else slogging through season 3 of "True Detective"?
Yes, great work from Ali as always.
He's been a busy bloke!
Watching Downton Abbey Season 1
not bad at all, quite enjoyable, even in French
^Was quite a good show. Speaking of French, just started "Un Village Francais". Tale of one French village in 1940 when the Nazi hordes arrive. Seven seasons; hardcoded English subs. First two seasons are 6 one hour episodes then it goes to 12 episodes starting with season 3. On PB. Pretty good thus far, but I'm only into EP2SEA1.

^Jury's still out. I'm going to try a few more episodes.

Spent the weekend watching Dirty John.
A true story about a conman who seduced women through dating sites.
Up until about E04 I still hated the oldest daughter more than I did Eric Banner's character...

^Yeah. 1st season was great, 2nd sucked, this one is just ok. Worth watching, but not great.
Yep, agreed. Persevered for a 4-5 episodes, but can't be arsed watching anymore. Just nothing really holding my interest, tbh.
The franchise is just trading on the rep of the magnificent 1st series, the script writing and performances of Harrelson and McConaughey.
Ali blows that ham McConaughey off the screen for acting talent, but this series has been too samey.
^Good by Ali and the other detective, but pretty slow otherwise.
They Shall Not Grow Old
World War One footage brought to life by Peter Jackson. This is fantastic.9/10
^Got a link? A name? A clue? A hint?

Fresh Eggs
Agreed. Jackson was given access to loads of archived WWI original film footage form the London Imperial War Museum. The frame-by-frame colouring and enhancement makes it look like it was taken just last week. Occasionally horrific, funny, poignant, and tragic. Brilliant, imo.
