Watched an old-ish movie last night (from around 2001). "The Spy Game" with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt. Solid, reasonably intelligent spy caper about a veteran spy (Redford) battling against CIA politics to save protege Pitt, after falling into the hands of the Chinese.
Enjoyable film, not rated highly on it's release, but seems a quality movie compared to a lot of shite that I have watched recently. Perhaps that's just me though.
Another quality oldie (since it popped up on RARBG today):
Capricorn One (1977)
Three astronauts about to take off for Mars are secretly pulled from the spacecraft at the last minute, and flown to a secret location in the desert.... much mayhem ensues.
Not really a Scifi, in fact a good action/conspiracy romp with some stellar performances from Elliott Gould, Telly Savalas, James Brolin, Sam Waterston and Karen Black (plus OJ Simpson when everyone liked him).
Great action scenes, snappy dialogue and some memorable moments (especially from Brolin who got right into the part).
A solid 7.5/10 and not really dated.

"House Of Cards" just isn't the same without the evil of Kevin Spacey. Robin Wright tries, but just can't capture it. Probably a good thing it's the last season; might have been even better not to try to squeeze out a last season.
I'm a good way into second season of 'Making A Murderer' now and can recommend it, somehow they managed to break new ground and not rehash too much of the first season (although some is but that was unavoidable considering the subject matter).
It's a hard watch though from the point of view that it makes you kinda frustrated seeing how the weight of the criminal justice system is so stacked against people.
Yes mate, that's it exactly!Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton

I watched S1, E's 1-4 of Bodyguard. E1 started out with a bang and was good....excitement trailed off, though, with progressive episodes and became less a guy fighting terrorists in London and more PTSD and rooting a MILF. I'll give E5 a go and see if it gets better.
Oops!
I might be wrong about that... Not going to admit it though!
Hardly surprising that you don't like the same movies, then.
Binge watched The Brink again, Jack Black/Tim Robins, guaranteed to have the perpetual protesters cringe, though to be fair it casts a rather uncomplimentary shadow upon the political establishment which helps to even things out.
Easy to watch comedy with no kids around, 8/10.
One for you Davis:
Alone We Fight (2018)
"Facing mounting odds, a small but determined band of American soldiers venture into dangerous enemy territory on a mission to stop an advancing German unit from breaking through the Allied line."

No rating so I can't tell you if it's crap or not.
