I was quite surprised at how good 'In The Line of Duty' was.

I was expecting something like 'The Bill'.

The dialogue was a bit clunky in series 1, but it steadily got better in 2 and I thought series 3 was pretty tense stuff.

    Very well done.

I am not going to tell you the whole story. Just watch it and enjoy it. If after watching it you have any problems please do not hesitate to get back to me and I will do all I can to explain the plot to you.

How about just giving your opinion on whether it was good or not?

Before you say, "I wouldn't have posted unless it was good" please read the thread. The idea is to post about something and say whether you think its worthy of other people's time or not.

Just watched, "From Justin to Kelly". Its a film about two obscure singers from the rollicking hit TV show American Idol.

Was it good? Watch the bloody thing and make up your own mind! Losers.

This thread is supposed to be about recommendations. I have recommended a good series which is currently available on Exodus. Others may not like it and they have a right to their own opinions. Why on earth do you want me to say why I like it ?

Try it and see if you like it, you miserable old bastard.

I don't think anybody else on this forum has seen "Cardinal". How can I discuss it with them ? It takes more than one person to have a discussion.

I am not wasting my time writing the reasons why I like it and am not going to give a synopsis of the plot. Hopefully, other more sensible members may be prompted to give it a try and I hope they enjoy it. You and Harry can get stuffed !

Let me give you a clue:

    Cardinal (2017)

The bloke who can't act out of Helix is so bad in this Canadian crime series that it just needs mustard, cheese or eggs and it would be a sandwich.

"14 Diaries of The Great War". On PirateBay. Interesting concept. The 8-episode story is built around the diaries of 14 individuals involved in WW1. I am only into the first episode, but for WW1 buffs, thus far it's well worth it for the archival footage, which is excellent. Each episode in an hour. In English with hardcoded subs as required or voiceovers. Black and while and color alternate.

Only episodes 1-5 are up so far. The final three are up by some other uploader, but don't work. So, a bit of a wait for the last three. All up on EZTV are working ones. Ep6 just popped up.

    Gritty boxing story
A former youth boxing champion, Jimmy McCabe (Johnny Harris), is a man in search of hope but looking in all the wrong places. When he hits rock bottom he turns to his childhood boxing club and the only family he has left: gym owner Bill corner man Eddie and promoter Joe. Back in training, years after anyone thought he was a contender, he risks his life, as he tries to stand tall and regain his place in the world

Soundtrack by Paul Weller, good script and decent cast make this a gritty film worth watching.

And to close, all 8 episodes are now up. Seems to be little interest, however I'll say that in general the stories were interesting, some, like the Cossack girl, more than others. Great old archive footage. 7/10.

"Public Enemy". Season1. A gritty French detective series. Brought to you by uploader SNO, king of hardcoded subs. On PB. 10 EPs. I'm just starting EP3...great so far.

It is. I was gonna post it earlier but wasn't sure if the crowd here would like it.

Starts out kinda gay, but gets good. I actually binge watched it on Netflix then continued offshore. Kinda new-age but good.

If you're looking through Netflix & can't find anything, hit it up. I thought it was way better than that Suicide Tape one (forget the name)
It's quite good. Some very good dialogue and can can be quite funny in parts.

Oh yeah thanks for reminding me. That one is still on the list

In the process of watching the most recent House of Cards.

Just finished Season 3 of 12 Monkeys. Sci-Fi aired the whole new season over a weekend, sort of netflicks stylee. Good.

I watched 'Jawbone' the other night and was pleasantly surprised. What can happen in a boxing movie except that our hero turns his back on a life of crime to become a champion? Well I suppose he could decide 'Fuck getting beaten up for a living, I'm going back to thieving', but then it would cease to be a boxing movie.

'Jawbone' wisely focusses just on a boxer trying to win one fairly low level fight, and so avoids a lot of the genre cliches. Also, walking cliche Ray Winstone isn't in it for long, presumably because the pay wasn't as good as at 'Bet Free Six Five'.

    6.5/10

With a totally fucked up knee, I can't walk, so I binge watched this yesterday. Excellent. 8/10 if you like foreign series.

I watched those two series when they came out and they were great. There's also a great book about the hunt for Escobar that I have called Killing Pablo. Well worth a read. I think that season 3 is due out latter this year.
