Watched this last night and will give it a 7/10. Starts off very slow and to be honest if it didn't have two fantastic actors in Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini in it, I may have turned off early on. Glad I didn't because over all a decent little story.

I downloaded Interstellar and started watching it last night but the sound quality is really poor. After almost an hour I gave up. I'll have to wait until there's a better quality (dvd rip) version to download as it looks like it will be a worthwhile view.

On a side note, one of my external hard drives has packed it in. My computer can't detect it. One terrabyte of TV programs gone missing, any suggestions of how to get it working again?

I downloaded Hamster Video Converter to convert MKV files to AVI so I can play them on my TV.
Anyone have any experience with this program? How long does the process take to convert a file? It doesn't seem to be working for me.

^ Never heard of that one. I've been using this one for a few weeks without any issues. It was just the first one I came across when I set up my new computer. It's not quick, probably about 15 mins at least for a film, but it has every format you could need. I normally load up 10 things at a time and then just leave it all day. When I get home they're all done, and then it turns your computer off when it was finished.

Yes the blue light on the external hard drive comes on. There is no power source, it gets its power through the usb port

I have two Seagate external hard drives (same model).

The healthy one has a blue light which blinks slowly, the crook one is blinking much quicker.

Also when I put my ear to the healthy one I can hear it spinning inside, the other one is silent.

Watched this last night. Nothing special but worth a watch. A bit like his 'Taken' films but with less action. An ex drunk ex cop, gets hired to find a couple of nut jobs who are kidnapping drug dealers wives for ransom. 6 1/2 out of 10.

Do you click safely remove hardware when unplugging it from your pc ?

Try this method a few times first-

Take a USB device that IS working on your machine, (I use a cordless mouse), unplug the USB plug from any slot (let's call that slot A), and plug that USB device into ANY different USB slot. The mouse will show disconnection and then reconnection.

For some reason, this action will "zeroize" slot A, and it will now recognize the Seagate.

Then plug the Seagate drive into THAT slot you just removed the other USB device from (slot A).

If that didnt work then try looking for it in unknown devices or usb controllers or removable devices.

If you still cant find it, see if your BIOS is detecting it

If that cant find it, then take it out of its casing and stick it onto your pc's sata cable.

If that doesnt fix it....

^ The very first thing I'd do is to plug it in to somebody else's computer. If that computer finds it alright, then immediately you will know the HDD is working and have reduced the amount of things it could be. Process of illumination and all that.
