We haven't had a Thai movie mentioned for a while. Here are 3 of my favourites, maybe already mentioned itt but worth a re-hash. Not sure where to download them. I got a link on TD from someone to an awesome Thai movie torrent site (with subtitles), but lost it. Maybe someone knows it?
"The Legend of Suriyothai" - Very nicely produced historical flick, a love story against the backdrop of the Burmese sacking of Ayuttaya. Based on supposed real events, though the core historical context is pretty right I think. The turncoat queen of Chiang Mai is hot. My biggest gripe is that you don't see enough of her.

*****
"Chocolate" - A teenage female martial artist trained by the same mob as Tony Jaa stars in this. Great action scenes, the best is on scaffolding along a BKK soi, and the story line is not too bad for an action flick.

Chocolate (2008) - IMDb
*****
"Zee-Oui" - An interesting movie given that it's based on Thai folk lore, it's supposed to be a true story about a Chinese immigrant that eats little kids, but not sure how true it is. Thai parents use Zee-Oui as a scare tactic to keep kids in line. "Eat your rice or Zee-Oui will get you in your sleep, rip out your heart and eat that"

Enjoy! Interested in any other Thai movies that people like, and links to the torrents with subtitles would be sweet.
I'd say Breaking Bad is better than everything I've watched on that list.
Yes, I'd say BB is better than The Wire.
have you ever watched buffy?Quote:

and how many 12 year olds would have deadwood and the wire as their top two series of all time?
and anybody who watched battlestar galactica and didn't think it was one of the best shows in history is lying
it took sci-fi to an entirely new level
IMDB ratings
The Wire: 9.4
Deadwood: 9.2
Buffy: 8.2
Battlestar galactica: 8.8
Babylon 5: 8.2
Northern exposure: 8.3
i'd like to add
The west wing
The shield
Friday night lights
still uncertain re game of thrones...will see how it plays out but i'm a bit non plussed having read the books...no surprises but i understand why it's so popular if you don't know what is coming
Breaking Bad 9.6
Planet Earth 9.5
Game of Thrones 9.5
The production, screen play, settings, costumes etc is pretty awesome. On par with 'Rome', where they built a mini old roman city for the set. Rome is maybe one the most most under rated series out there. Much better than Spartacus which got a lot more play.Quote:

i think we are talking about tv drama
i can see the appeal of the other two
i loved breaking bad but not as much as the ones i listed which i prefer..in many cases maybe for slightly sentimental reasons
they have more re-watch value for me...i've watched them all more than once and in the case of galactica and northern exposure...probably at least 4 times through
it's no surprise that very recent shows are atop the list..it's part of the cultural zeitgeist
game of thrones is excellent
HBO nearly always is
i think i've spoiled the viewing experience by knowing what's coming....those videos of people watching the red wedding were priceless..i felt envious of them
i should also have mentioned twin peaks which i've re-watched at least thrice
i won't watch breaking bad again i don't think
priceless red wedding reactions

indeed, CMN can have scary taste that you would expect from a chav with a 12yr old mindQuote:
