worth watching for james mcavoy's performance alone but certainly not one of the top 20 of 2013

Just saw a rather odd film 'Peacock' starring Cillian Murphy.
Why do these films get so acclaimed by the politically correct brigade? It's just a guy who desses up occasionally as a woman and the folks in his town think they're two different people.
Not much else.
Watched wolf of wall street bit over the top and far, far too long but good performances. Got through 45 mins of page 8 but could not take the stilted and unnatural delivery from all the actors, just seemed laughable, then annoying, utter shite.
Well The Assets, which I thought was a decent 8-part drama about Aldrich Ames, has been pulled after two episodes. Remains to be seen if/when they screen the other 6.
it's an acting style, you either like it or you don't, more to do with personal tasteOriginally Posted by xanax
I thought the cast was brilliant,
each episode feels like a direct continuation of the previous episode with flash back to the continuation of the previous episodes. It's definitely a movie breakdown into a mini-series.Originally Posted by alwarner

It's got movie actors in ergo it's a broken up movie. That's what I'm assuming.
OR Star Wars episodes 4 - 6 were one long movie made into a mini series?
I wouldn't take the SW analogy, different animal
breaking a long movie into a mini-series is actually a good idea, it's the future, it gives more space to writers and directors to fully articulate their vision
True Detectives is one long continuing story being break down into episodes, and that's why it's a movie. Great movie or great mini-series whatever you want to call it.
you can also tell by how each episode starts, it's a direct transition from the last minutes of the previous episode, hence it's a movie.
